How to Write a Review in Ukrainian | Reviews about Restaurants, Hotels, Movies

In this Intermediate Ukrainian lesson, we will talk about reviews: how to write a review in Ukrainian, which vocabulary you need for it, what features the review should have to be useful, and will even practice writing your own reviews for Google Maps about restaurants, hotels and movies in Ukrainian!

Щиро дякую, Ніко! У Лондоні є маленька кавʼярня Вієнто. Кава завжди свіжа та смачна! Головна людина смажить свою каву у кавʼярні. Дуже добре пахне. Можна також замовляти смачні круасани й пончики. Немає столів всередині кавʼярні, але можна сидіти надворі де знаходяться деякі столи. Коли я у Лондоні, я ніколи не пропускаю шансу замовляти цю смачну каву!! 💙💛🇺🇦

Дякую, Ніко - як завжди, дуже добре структуроване відео - особливо мені сподобалося, що ви показали прикметники з різними закінченнями та відмінками. Мій відгук про ресторан у Парижі: Ресторан "Радість Парижа" - це невеликий ресторан місцевої кухні. Особливо я б відзначив неймовірно доброзичливий персонал, та особливо головного офіціанта, який чітко відчув, що нам подобається гарний жарт, тому, коли мій брат замовив «найбільшу колу», і він приніс йому 5-літровий гігантський стакан, це було просто ідеальний дотик. Їжа була цікава, незвичайна та неймовірна на смак. Рекомендую всім (з почуттям гумору). 5 зірок із 5!

There is a research field in data science and natural language processing called "sentiment analysis." Its biggest application is probably large-scale analysis of reviews. It is also often applied to social media posts. For example, if you wanted to know whether or not people like your new product, you could harvest all of the tweets about it and then measure the level of positive or negative feelings expressed in thousands of those tweets in seconds

I had a previous comment that apparently did not post. I just said that I was part of a bandura ensemble named «Вiчнiй Вiдгук» in the 1980s in the American diaspora. During this time, Ukrainian-Americans were very active in promoting Ukrainian culture. They still are, but it is harder with each generation.

There are also many other organizations, like schools and summer camps, that promote the bandura and Ukrainian culture in general. These bandurists have a strong connection to the culture and are making an impact on the younger generation here in the diaspora. Ukrainian culture is pretty strong in some large cities in the US. It’s not, like, everyone, but the banduristy, in particular, are doing good work to preserve and promote Ukrainian culture. These leaders are descendants of the original kobzars, like Hrihory Kytasty (whom I knew as a young banduristka). Maybe you should do a video on the bandura…? Definitely look in to the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus and its history in Ukraine before its members immigrated. You will find a treasure trove of history there.
