How to write good PI Objectives

At 19:44 about how to write PI objective, you have mentioned at the PI planing when your plan is quite final and knows what stories are going to be in your PI. Isnt it other way around? Objectives are driven from above layer from "Strategic themes "? Then the PI Objectives are provides the input to iterative goals/Sprint Goals ?

This is a bit confusing as sometimes PI Objectives are derived from what was given into planning eg with the "Top 10 Features" for an ART. Though the intention of PI objectives is different. While Features are focussed on the output, PI Objectives are focussed on the outcome. Also, PI Objectives might be quite different from Features, if only a half of it could be planned into the PI for capacity reasons. Strategic Themes, though, happen to be on a very different layer and have an indirect impact on PI Objectives as they are a submission to Features (depending on your particular SAFe configuration). Very informative video. What happens if the team is unable to complete 100% of all the committed PI objectives by the end of the PI?

Thank you! :) As the team committed on the PI objectives, not completing them implies a dysfunction. The scrum master of this team should make this a topic in the next retrospective. If it is not just a team-specific observation, it might also become a topic of the Problem Solving Workshop in the Inspect and Adapt just before PI Planning.
