Hi Anika! This is an amazing video and I love it. Thank you so much for this incredible content. I have a question: Since the moment in which I decide to write down the PRD, when is this document created? who edits it? I am guessing it is a very dynamic process in which I should have meetings with different stakeholders and understand their interests, the needs of the customer and every constraint that might arise. Them, write down the requirements as I think they should be with the information I gathered during my meetings, and finally I should I arrive to a meeting with every point already filled and asking for feedback after going through each of them. Does it look like the actual process or do you do it differently?

Thanks for this video. How long does it take you to complete a Product Requirements Document from start to finish on an average?
@TheProductPup Жыл бұрын
Hmm, can't really answer this, there is no average, but some thoughts: 1. this task shouldn't be time bound, but work within your product roadmap timeframe 2. its ok for a first draft to be incomplete, and you ask for others to also contribute to it 3. what does complete really mean? in a sense, it will never be complete because requirements can change even while building, so it should be good enough to inform design and engineering's next steps.

How do you transfer this info to jira and get it on the backlog? Can you do a jira walkthrough on how you do this? Also any skits so we can see what a prd meeting is like with real questions and dialogue?
@Destiny14615 Жыл бұрын
Would each feature be its own epic in jira or story?
@ardalanmohajer2 жыл бұрын
The video was mature, wise, splendid, and helpful. But I believe that the features should be generated based on the user stories and also most of the features should be components not a page full of different assets. Assume an admin panel that has lots of different lists such as user lists, order lists, and so on, that all the lists need to have a filter or search component. So in your method, we face lots of repeated stories. For each list, we should repeat the same story. i.e: as an admin user I need to filter the list so that ... . What do you think?
@TheProductPup2 жыл бұрын
I think there are different ways to break up features and functionality. For a large, complex product, leading with user stories can be too granular. But if you're writing requirements for a feature, then yes, lead with the stories. Totally agree that there shouldn't be repetition if it can be avoided, so componentising makes sense.
@罗振-g8f2 жыл бұрын
It seems there is no section to describe functionalities and non-function requirements, as well as properties in your template. Pls explain why? Thanks so much
@TheProductPup2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! Great point about non-functional requirements, I didn't think about that specifically. Functional requirements go "User stories and requirements" table. You could add non-functional requirements in here as well. Or you could have a separate section for non-functional requirements. Typically, I would have Engineering take the lead on NFR and I would add to it. Hope this helps!

@@cathrynjenn @The Product Pup commenting on this also. Your videos are so helpful. An updated product roadmap template with examples will be helpful in how you prioritise features and share them with stakeholders. Also would like to see how you develop a go-to-market strategy.
