Until this video, I never actually realized that people use pre-written spells without customizing them first. My sister and I were taught spellcraft from a young age, and a part of that was creating our own spells. I guess it's kind of like cooking. Some people use a recipe and follow it strictly, some use a recipe but customize it how they wish, and others just go from scratch and make up their recipes on their own.
@Fezza605 жыл бұрын
I nearly used that example in my post. If I ever tried to cook with a recipe I never had everything they listed so always ended up winging it. I had a couple of disasters but it mostly worked 😉

About languages: I myself am Dutch, and I'm also fluent in English. Most days my partner and I speak in English to one another without even consciously deciding to do so. Sometimes I dream in English. However, when I speak for a spell, I always always always use Dutch, my native tongue. The reason is that it just strikes a deeper string withing me, and I can connect to my intention for the spell the most effectively. So, even if you have studied Latin and you do know in which order the words go: My advice is to use your native language. Of course, this is only my advice. If speaking differently is like a prop to you, to get you in the right mindset, you do you. But in my experience, it's counterproductive.

Ik heb juist het tegenovergestelde. Alles is in engels hier dus klinkt de spreuk in nederlands raar voor mij💀

For me it is the opposite, I am fluent in Neglish but my mother tongue is German. I use whichever language works best for me with each working or sometimes even a mixture of both. I use them very intuitively so if I feel like English is the right language to use I use English

i speak dutch as native language too and i've tried writing in dutch but i always feel like it's silly and less serious than english.. how do you get over that?
@naturally_roisin3 жыл бұрын
@@nurailidepaepe2783 Maybe try and watch a TV show or a few movies in Dutch, or else try talking to people online in the language. There are groups such as Amino and other online forums where you can find fellow Dutch-speakers. I'm not Dutch myself, I'm actually Irish, but I've found a couple of sites online where you can do this. I also find watching TV shows in Irish very helpful when getting over the "awkward" stage of speaking the language! I usually speak Irish when working with the Fae so it's important for me to be as un-awkward as possible haha 😊 Reading books (especially something you're familiar with - for me it was Harry Potter) can also help you to adjust. I hope this will prove useful to you!

Even when following a spell from another source, I always add my own spin to them. I can't imagine following a spell word-for-word exactly as it's written. To me, part of the magick is adding your own energy by personalizing the spell for yourself.

2:50 I’ma just say What I do is not write them down in a BoS until they work, because one spell might not work well for me until revised for my preferences. So if I end up making a spell that doesn’t work for me in my BoS and I don’t find out it doesn’t work well until later, I then have a spell in my BoS I’ll never use in that form So instead I write it down in like a notebook or a scrap piece of paper, and then after all the revisions it needs, after it’s worked properly, then I can write it down as a working spell that I may use again one day Because I like to fill my BoSs with tons of theory, basis to build off of. So if there’s a spell in there it’s gonna be a final product, and I’d want to use a different journal for the process of making one, because otherwise by Book of Shadows would be filled with spells entirely which isn’t what I like my BoS to be about

oooooohhh LOVE the hair in these colors!! my favorite correspondence book is the LLewellyn's Complete it's been a GOLD Mine! I actually love to WRITE rhyming spells and they seem to be pretty powerful...the most powerful spells have also ADDED candle magick to them and not only do I dress and charge the candle, but hold it over the cauldron of the burning writing during the ritual. I did two for my cat sick with heart disease...the first I held her collar with a new talisman attached over the cauldron, the second a candle which I then burned daily near her as often as I could until it was gone...it ended up being at least a 2 week candle. I also kept the other correspondences near her when I burned it, tarot cards and gemstones. This week she was back at the vet for a one month checkup and the vet was SHOCKED how good her heart sounded and how low her blood pressure was...I received MANY messages from the Goddess after my spells for work I could in the mundane world to help her. I am very hopeful this level of effort will ring as true yet again as I am working on a love spell for myself now. It's complicated because I have someone in my life, but feel very uncertain he is who I am meant to be with as my partner any longer so working to make the spell for the best person to strengthen if it IS us or release if that's what I need to make the space for the one who IS right...is a difficult place to be. :( FANTASTIC video and thanks so much for sharing!

Hearth this is fantastic information & so clearly expressed as well. This is exactly how I’ve been creating my own spells for over 20 years. Even though I’ve been on this path for probably longer than you have been alive 😂 I still learn a lot from you. Your videos have helped me expand my own practice in my crone years by introducing working with figure candles, doll babies & using candle remains for divination. Your mystery box is the only one I’ve ever been drawn to & last month I received my first box from you & it was just perfect 👌 I loved how I was able to use everything in the box together to create one very strong working. I’m really excited about receiving the next box. Thank you for breathing fresh life into a crones practice. Brightest of blessings to you

I love this! I'm very much a beginner, but today I wrote my first ritual. I wanted to write one before watching a video to just test my intuition. We have a very similar way of making spells! Im sure nobody real cares, but if you do here is what i did: I felt like my cat and I had a very nice time bonding today, so I wanted to write a bonding ritual so I could use the current bonding energy that had presented itself. Since I had determined an intention, i flipped through my (very limited) BoS and decided on a few items. Rose Quartz for their unconditional love and a pink candle for their bonding and friendship properties. And salt to protect me while practicing the ritual since i was in the woods. I decided to creat the ritual as so; grab 2 special items for the two subjects. One should be burnable, the other solid. Burn the one object and then ground its ashes. sprinkle the ashes on the other object. and then return the object to the other person (or cat). its much more detailed in my BoS, but i simplified it in the comments. love you!

Finally got chance to sit down and watch. Littlest witchling needed emergency surgery last night so life has gone a bit sideways since Tuesday. Anyway she's recovering and I'm so happy to settle down and watch a new video. With spells I generally start by researching spells others have used for a similar purpose. I figure out what seems the right items to bring together for the specific circumstances. So I look at correspondences for incense, crystals, candles, herbs and anything else that my intuition tells me makes sense. Sometimes I include moon phases days of the week. It can feel overwhelming to start with but it's worth learning to trust yourself because then the spells and rituals are tailored to you.

Very cool, thank you! 🌈 I do it very similarly and I find the time when I'm gathering the herbs and tools for the set-up the most magickal part of the whole process, because I'm getting into the magician mindset while preparing everything. That's also the point where I leave looooots of room for spontaneous last-minute changes, additions and intuitions! This is the phase where the best things come to my mind, as if my subconscious gets the signal that we're doing it now and presents me with what it has been brewing in the background. I hope that makes sense... 😄

I recall an instance in one Facebook group where a male teen with special needs posted asking for help. He was looking for a spell to turn back time to May of 2021 back to when his mommy was still alive for him to save her from her cancer. He said his life right now is hell and his father won't even provide for his wants like his momma did. And he felt like "his timeline is wrecked". While most of the group was saddened, but besides the point that it was too specific, we had to remind him that real-life majik is not like magic in fantasy, as he obviously thought. Time past is past, physical death is a fixed point any timeline, and that he must accept his momma is gone, at least in the physical sense. Spirit always exists, any point in any timeline in the multiverse. May Spirit bless and guide him.

Something I wanna say (and I can't take credit for this, but I also don't remember where I read it) is that think of every possible way to help your situation with a spell. For example, say you have an obnoxious neighbor. You could do a spell to get them evicted, or you could do a spell to make them realize they are being obnoxious, or you can do a spell to help them move to a better place, the list goes on. DO NOT just do the first spell that comes to your head without thinking through the consequences!! This is an amazing btw thank you for making it, it's always fun to hear how you do things :3
