What a great lesson, Kevin. I appreciate the way you moved through the chords talking about the "mood" of each and how they moved along. Thanks!

Intriguing lesson Kevin. I'm at the stage where I'm repetitively playing and sometimes singing along with just a few songs to gain flexibility with the chords and rhythms the songwriters and singers employ. After viewing your chord progression video, I've decided to add to my next stage of practice by creating several chord progressions in different keys that work with my Baritone uke. I realize that you were playing a standard uke, but today's progression works quite well to my ear with my baritone and I know the baritone's names of the chords. I'm planning to create at least three that stretch my ability to move between a variety of chords and that allow me to practice making music, but not songs, that sounds good via the chord progressions, tempos and strum patterns. I'm also going to look up some of the chord progressions that you're offering up. One thing I don't get is how you select a key, how you choose the chords for the ii, iii, vi, and vii positions. I see that if you've selected the key of "C" then the sequence is C, D, E F G A B (and C again) But why Dm, Em, Am and B? (is that a Bsharp? or flat?) ( I guess if I translate your sequence to my chords, its key of G with G As Bm C D Em F sharp or flat, do I have that right? And very good to be a member of A4U!!! ~ Ray from Canada
