Just wanted to add it would be cool if we had live writing sessions where we can actually talk to each other! Cause it’s so cool that there’s a community of ppl who have the same interests, i feel like that would be so fun

one thing everyone needs to remember after watching this video, though, is that writing is meant to be fun. it’s not a chore, and if you don’t feel like doing it you don’t have to. goals and stuff like that for your novel is good, but not if it controls your entire author life and you end up not enjoying it anymore. take breaks when you want to and write when you really want to.

One thing that works for me is playing subs or meditation music WHILE I’m writing. Preferably something with affirmations or brown noise. It really helps me focus. Last time I did it, I wrote 8000 plus words in 4 hours and some change. I would normally get so distracted and discouraged 200 words in.

also for the first tip, you can turn on pageless on google docs by going to file, page setup, and click pageless. it let me write more freely and worry more about the actual writing than the pages and word count :)

i am always amazed by how obvious your tips are but i never even heard about some of these! i watch A LOT of writing related videos, especially on how to write better, more efficient, etc., but most of your tips are really new to me. i feel like even though we´re the same age, you´re much more experienced and i really look up to you and admire your knowledge. more than everything, i am so thankful you´re sharing all this with us. i love you and the community you´ve established!! <3

This video was extremely helpful for me, especially because I am wrapping up my book The Moons And One World and am going to begin a new writing project in July. After 8 hard months of writing, over 90k words written in my story, over 250 pages long, it’s a bittersweet kind of feeling to end it. Because, no matter how many times I draft my story, I will always know how it will end. Yet, with that saying, I am looking forward to see what the new story’s going to bring :)

Hi Ana! Tysm for the video! I totally needed this video. I also love your eyeliner today! Thank you so much for the tips. When I read books for school I see it like a movie in my mind and the project is pictures based on that which really helps. I try to write picturesquely which in book that I read seems easy but when I’m writing it, I have the whole idea and scene in my head and find it so hard to portray that where people understand what is in my head. Thesaurus is literally my writing bestie lol so if you are writing for school or for pleasure it helps because I will forget about it while I’m editing.
