In this video, I demonstrate a new resin from Nova3D 'Ultra Clear'.
Please note, Nova3D sent me this resin for free in exchange for a review, however, all opinions are based on the full price of this resin. In the UK (on Amazon), it is currently possible to purchase 500g of this resin for £35.99.

The printing advice from Nova3D is as follows (Monochrome LCD):
1. It requires 3 times the exposure time of normal resin to ensure successful printing.
2. Not suitable for high-detail models (support will stick together).
3. Suitable for models with long support spacing.
Recommended parameters:
Bottom layer:3
Bottom Exposure:20s
Layer Thickness:0.05
Normal Exposure:6s

Andrew Sink has a good tip by brushing curing after clean. I've seen spay clear coating being used too. Can you test these out and make a new vid saving me tons of time and $$... thanks in advance.

How do you get clear resin to stop clumping up and deforming where the supports attach?

I feel 20 minutes is way too long for a transparent resin. Most solid color resins are good at 2 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the object. I suppose it also depends on your uv light. I have the elegoo mercury x station with some powerful lights lol. Still since the light goes right through transparent resin, it probably doesn't need more than 5 minutes.

Oh yes, it certainly doesn’t need 20 minutes to post cure! That was purely to simulate how ‘non yellow’ it would stay after prolonged exposure to UV light, which is inevitable in most environments

It's not the duration, it's the intensity over duration - low power over longer time reduces heat buildup and prevents cooking / yellowing. Once it's (slowly) fully cured, far more resistant to yellowing over time. Oh, and definitely let it dry completely before curing, that helps too. ;)@@CallumColes

Make a transparent silicone mold of the original and cast it using the uk cure resin. It would be identical

It doesn't work that way because of many factor, mainly shrinkage and bad exposure. These resins shrink a little and if you expose a lot it will deform and will also make a ton of heat which may do some bad stuff and maybe even bubbles because it makes a lot of fumes. Then comes the bad exposure, where as the resin cures because it reacts with UV, it also means that it will absorb UV light and so you won't cure more than a few mm or even less or maybe it will need a lot of UV light which will also make it even more yellow. The best thing is indeed a silicone mold, but cast it with an epoxy resin or some urethane resin that has high transparency, because most will also yellow

It only needs a few minutes of finished curing...idealy immersed in water. This will eliminate any stickiness that you get normally. Oxygen inhibits curing.

This resin on my Mars Pro has a layer time of 42 seconds.. Bottom layer is 190 seconds. Anything less is failure. So long!!
