What strikes me as stupid about this pack- is that they could have easily built a Sweet shop DLC in the store, and had an NPC of Katy Perry walk about the place and give you quests or something.

I honestly loved this pack, as someone that didn’t have a ton of kids stuff I ended up using a lot of this pack in a room for kids toys or like a kid space in a basement, even some of the pre builds for the world were cool like the pool. I loved using that for kids bdays. The outfits worked well for showtime, but a lot of them were just outfits Katy had worn previously so a lot of people made “Katy perry” sims after the pack launched which was really cool to see. I admittedly and shameless loved this one 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

I made a super cute alchemy shop with stuff from this pack (mostly just decorative things tho not so much the furniture). The idea was that the alchemy shop was pretending to be a candy shop. Bc I can't live without my potions.... but I also don't always want the super witchy aesthetics and witches and magic walking around in every town. (Even tho I love the witch look. But for story purposes. )

I NEVER hated this pack, I always thought it was unfairly hated on. It's not awful like Sims 4's Journey to Batuu or Kits (or really anything sims 4 related lol). Heck, it was the first Sims 3 thing I remember seeing at the store (besides the basegame) and I thought it looked cool. Personally, I find the stuff to be super cute. I don't use the items that often and I'm not a fan of Katy Perry, but the pack isn't THAT bad in my opinion. It's got really cute stuff for kids and such, or just if you want a more eccentric touch. I'm so glad I got it off eBay a few years ago. (Also. Mad respect that you dislike Star Wars too. I don't like it either)

I never bought this pack as a kid, and have thrived off of LGR's review of it for years. I could have sworn there were hairs included with the pack (still hideous, like a bride of Frankenstein look with a giant peppermint on the front, or a cookie baret with pigtails). If there were subtler with the shapes and details like that lounge chair and leaned into subtle textures, I could see using some of the things and recoloring them (for instance, the picnic table, with natural wood colors to look like elegant carved wood instead of plastic candy, or recoloring the tile walls) and masking them in my builds to make them look more elaborate. There are also things I think that are appropriate with the candy theme like the bed, the arcade machine, the slip n slide, etc. but most of it falls in the category between masked/usable outside the packs' context, and way too on brand/unusable outside of specific places or situations. Definitely not worth 35 dollars no matter how you slice it, especially for the variety of quality on certain items.

I see there are hairs mentioned in pack descriptions... but I couldn't find them. It's possible they didn't load properly as well, this thing was a nightmare to get running. I think I will keep this pack installed when I'm doing anything non-serious just for a giggle once in a while. Also would be fun for a build challenge....

The majority of Sims 3's lifespan was squarely in my "I'm a big GROWN UP kid and I HATE pink!!" phase so if I had the game I would have absolutely trashed the pack to kingdom come. I can see my sub-10-year-old pink-obsessed self loving this, though. If TS3 and this pack existed when I was like 8 I would have definitely made the gaudiest, most hideous builds ever with this stuff, and I would have loved it. As an adult it's just fucking funny.

This was my first ever bought pack for the sims 3 and I honestly loved it. I was really into Katy Perry's music then and I loved cute and sweet stuff. It was really cool for decorating children's rooms. I also loved this water slide(?). I wish I still had the original packaging, it was unfortunately destroyed when I was moving :(

My trick to use bizarre itens like that is look for add-ons (yeah, why only have one ugly item in you living room when you can have a really ugly living room with the entire collection?) i search too for edits for the color subsets so you can recolor the worst parts in that item that is kinda cute but have that hideous details in avocado green that you can't change. And the thing that I look first is edits that takes out painted details, and that's really saved some clothes of this pack that because of the candy details makes it unusable.

The reason most of the outfits look like costumes and the objects like set props is because 90% of the content of this pack was DESIGNED FOR the Katy Perry edition of Showtime. Of course, EA being greedy as always, they decided to remove most of the content from that pack and sell it as a separate and overpriced pack.

Few my families sims, if I decide to buy between lollypocalypse, cottonwood tree or gumball drop, I consider it a decorative sculpture in the house, so buy 1 or more of the 3 to inside the house. It sucks if it takes a lot of tiles to put 1 or more 3 those candy sculpture. I usually love male sim, usually a Papa (usually he have youngest son or just have single son) looks sexy that sometimes between families sims that i create, i wearing him a undershirt (tank top) or sleevesless cloth as top cloth as everyday clothing & i like eat cupcakes, cakes, cookies etc (if i "afford" it meaning i ready buy it. I not want waste lot money) but NOT COMFORTABLE looking a Papa wearing sexy top cloth but with picture sweets, especially female sims, as a Mama or a daughter (usually have youngest brother) too sexy wearing as everyday clothing & with picture sweets, very NOT COMFORTABLE😶🤐🌈🌈🌈🌈. Clothing at least just everyday clothing look normal (with normal picture like iconic picture adventure in shirt top cloth) that comfortable to see.

I use OBS to record everything (it’s free... and make sure it’s NOT streamlabs obs... just the normal one) I edit everything with vsdc video editor, it’s also free but I am using the paid one (the free I used for the first year and a half of my channel and it works great) Try downloading both of those and play with them a bit, lots of KZbin tutorials I just followed along and developed my own style. It’s not easy, but it’s manageable if you stick to it!

i am all for the kpst slander, i participate in the slander but. the few items with SMALL doses of the disgustingly ostentatious candy theme are so cute. god the peppermint stool!! the cutest little threat to my fragile transgender masculinity. kinda hard but totally possible to incorporate NICELY into a real build.

I do not own this pack (nor Showtime), and likely never will (unless EA releases it in a Sims 3 Collection, with bug fixes). Of course, it is less likely that Sweet Treats will be a part of it, due to its branded content being limited (how did you find a copy for under 50$?). With that said, I have seen some awesome builds that utilize the pack (not so much the clothing/hairstyles, outside the red dress, or employee's clothing). Personally, I do not even find the red dress anything spectacular (there are plenty of store items and CC that are better). However, I did peruse through the comments, and understand why Katy Perry fans would still appreciate this, and since I am not one them (I think she is overated, and not all that talented), I can see what a hot mess the pack overall is (imo). Plus, when it was first released, it was 30$ USD (10$ more than any other SP, as was the KP version of Showtime far higher in price, as well), and KP's SW never went on sale for the year it was out (that I know of). After the year ended, people were selling copies for double and triple the original price. A friend of mine spent 200$ just to complete his Sims 3 collection. To end on a better note, I am thoroughly enjoying your content and personality❣

Thank you I'm glad you have so much interest and passion for the same game as I do. Personally, I feel KPST is similar to Movie Stuff, where its just costumes instead of real life items. So if you don't play with fame, neither pack will be useful to you. In fact, I am missing several stuff packs since I don't like the stuff in them haha. I don't own movie, diesel, or fast lane... but I HAD TO get the ICONIC Katy Perry pack 😭

@@Rekowcski I would not bother getting any of those (unless you are trying to complete your collection), I regret buying those 3, myself. Diesel is an okay brand (nothing that special imo), but it breaks the immersion with the Diesel logo, and not a Simlish one. FL added cars that go really fast, but CC creators offer far better. Movie, I wanted, thinking I could create in-game movies with the Generations camera, and use the acting lot (LN) to create sets for this. Instead, I just got mostly costumes that imo are mostly hideous and poorly designed. I have seen some machinimas that have utilized the old-style western wear and prop pieces (so, glad to see some finding good use of the pack)❣

I LOVE Katy, and this pack was completely her and her brand during the time it was released. Her own costumes and stage decorations translated into the game. I mean she was one of the biggest pop star at the time! I was younger and I was obsessed and wanted it sooo bad. Now as an adult I can appreciate it for what it was, but they definitely could’ve just thrown some of her costumes into the showtime expansion and it would’ve been enough. I love the creativity even though it’s a cash grab 😂🩷

i don't know if you've made a video on it, but what are your computers specs? i love the sims 3 but it runs terribly on my computer and the graphics aren't as nice either, i'm thinking of getting a new one :)

i don't have a top end pc or anything, I am using 16 gb ram and an intel i3 cpu with my roommates old graphics card in a pc i built. I think you can achieve similar results without spending a fortune. To get this game to run well there's a few fixes and patches I do, maybe I should do a video on that...

@@Rekowcski Thank you, fortunately, I already have it, I just transferred the files of the pak that I had in windows to Mac, even though the launcher does not show the icon, the game is all the folders, clothes, hairstyles, etc., but I still do not understand what the controversy was with the singer and ea.
