Inside that chunky monkey of a box, there was the PC in a reasonably small Mini ITX form factor and the boxes that the graphics card, motherboard and processor came in, plus bunch of that protective foam stuff they put in those boxes to protect the equipment within. I learned a very lot from their micromanaging mentality, and came to the conclusion that two can play their game so over the course of my hundred and thirty stop day I concluded that if I could add a minute to every stop that would be 2 hours of overtime every day at time-and-a-half pay, so as safety was such their number one priority I figured while waiting at a stoplight it would be doubly safe if I waited until I could proceed the second time it was safe to go. And every time I saw a watercooler seeing as how it was very important in Arizona to stay hydrated I would stop and hydrate myself. After another such ride-along with a supervisor because I was not moving fast enough and taking my breaks and lunch time provided, upon returning back to the building I heard my supervisor telling the management that "jeff" drove the speed limit all day long, AND came to complete stops at stop signs Yes it was crazy working there but in a way it was fun and entertaining and I got pretty good pay to deal with those fools

Then how does the package get to the door? Through security? Through access points at apartments? How does the 150 piece bulk stop to the big box store get unloaded?

32 years with UPS. Had 1/2 day of training on route. Integrad is to shave time off stops so you can do more work in an already machine-like pace

They still gon drop my stuff infront the gate
@GAs06tC3 жыл бұрын
We are trained not to open gates unless we have a clear view of the entire yard. Dog bites and escaping animals are a real concern.

I had a supervisor ride with me one day because according to them I should have been doing my route 3 hours faster, At the end of the day while driving back to the building he was working his calculator so hard smoke was coming out of it. He then told me he had found a way to shave 3 minutes off of my day, I asked him if he wanted me to run one red light or two stop signs. He told me know when I was walking to the vehicle take my finger and feel which way the teeth were on the key and over the course of a 130 stops this would save 3 minutes off my day, now remember according to their calculations I was three hours over the allotted time. He told me that might not sound like a lot of time but just think if they could save 3 minutes off of every employee did I know how much money that would be. I told this fool that I had a better idea just think how much money they would save if they fired three useless supervisors like him.....

I worked at a warehouse packing books...the company would hire people for 6 months (after 6 months the companies must hire their employee, at least where I live)...fire them for a few weeks and hire them again....just to keep the costs down and not having the responsibility of having full time employees. I met a lot of depressed people during that time...hats off for those who work with that...I worked only for a few months because I got a better job somewhere else during that time....

I pretty sure most of it is a lie. Judging by the way my packages looks like when they delivered. 🤷♂️

How do they learn to drop it

With all the hills in San Francisco. It never made sense to me that the UPS brownie vehicles were manual transmission. Not sure if they’re automatic these days.

The only thing I can say about this from personally working at UPS is safety is a high priority, a lot of these rules are true, and we have to use our horn ALL the time.

I can confirm UPS have kept my parcel very safe, very safe in their warehouse since the 4th of January. I heard they deemed me a risk to my own parcel so they've kept it nice and safe in their warehouse for me. 😊😊😊
