I've been dealing with the same thing. When i clicked through the "sold" listings where big bucks are paid, I saw that for the most part, almost all of them show as "relisted", meaning that no one actually paid that much. And typically both the buying and selling accounts involved are throwaway, having either 1 or 0 transactions. My theory is that collectors are trying to pump prices up with fake ebay "sold" listings.

Factors that determine worth: Generation (You can tell from the hang tag. Only 1-3 is worth much. 4+ is not) Material and the quality of them. Historical event correlation, political and cultural. Errors errors errors. If you can find errors in the tags and the details of the toy is worth a lot! There is are so many more determining factors, but those are a few.

Comment Raider Just doing a quick google search of beanie baby hang tag generations will produce charts for you! Remember though, the rule of thumb is 1-3 is best. HOWEVER certain beanie babies of potential value were only made in 4. So don’t count them out, do your research!:)

@@Wol-Un99 lol yeah I'm researching them because i got a box of like 42 beanie babies all with tags and prestine condition for a whopping $8. They're mainly all 4th gens with a few 1993 Beanies but missing the hang tag on those lol
