Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League Premier Division. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. I know that as a defender the most demoralizing thing that can happen in a game is when a long range shot goes in and it looked “saveable”. Nothing takes the wind out of your sails like watching the other team score off of constant long shots. Credit to the defence, but it looks like other teams realized they can shoot and it will test Striz.

It's a tough one cuz Ted was so good and also being able to say they had a player on loan from chelsea was a big deal. Philp was too good not to be getting regular gametime so they had to make a choice. I assume they didn't expect Ted to be recalled when he was.

Striz has conceded that first goal by Potters Bar four or five different times this season. Doesn’t get down quickly enough. You can see how the momentum shifts once that first goal goes in. New keeper this summer is a must if Hashtag want to seriously challenge for promotion.

I think Ore Bello (#11) and that big guy (#19) are two of the best individual players Hashtag have played against this season… They are so quick, strong, and good technically on the ball, and have really good goal scoring ability

GK is such an overlooked position on the pitch for most IMO. You not only see, but feel the difference when curd was here earlier this season. I’m not the biggest striz hater as some of our fans have been piling on the poor lad. However, that defense has no confidence in him whatsoever. It seems as if any team can come in at any given week, slap a couple balls from outside the box and they’re almost guaranteed a goal. That just can’t be good for the team’s confidence. On the first goal, you can’t really blame him. You can make the argument that his positioning and anticipation of the shot should’ve been better. That second goal had my blood boiling icl. As a keeper you have to know that this team (frankly every team that we play against this season) love a shot from range. Yet even after the attacker cuts in and starts initiating the shot. It seemed like Striz was watching the game from his phone just like I am. In fact he might’ve gotten an unskipable ad, which would explain why the ball went right down the middle while he watched it hit the back of the net. With barely any reaction to it. A lot of people blame Spence and devs and say this team just wasn’t good enough for this level this season. And I completely disagree with that statement. This team is two or three players away from serious contention. Just have to get the right guys in first.

A Proper shot stopping GK (much like the young lad that had a good game today) has to be on the top of the list going into the offseason. Followed by some midfielders that can help aid PK in holding down that area of the pitch. I feel like most of our goals come from fast breaks (I could be wrong). we don’t have the guys in the MF that can create some build up possession. And some more depth for the center half’s never hurt anyone.

Yep, that's the way to signal a goal-run 20/30 yards up the line to, basically, assume the position you'll be in for kick-off. He will have flagged because the ball was still active and in-play and needed to get the ref's attention ASAP. Good refereeing, just a lack of knowledge on comms! 😉

The wait on the NHS for ACL surgery is really not that long- I did mine at the end of November last year and had my surgery mid Feb, so 2.5 months between injury and surgery. Not to defend the referee and Lino but I thought I could explain the confusion during that goal. As an AR you’re always taught, when there is a hairline goal and it goes in, you have to run back towards the halfway line and not to flutter your flag. But he flutters because the referee hasn’t seen him. I’ve seen similar things happen often. But apart from that the referee had a poor game
