Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. I cant lie, from my experience/pov refs like this do in fact influence tempers and frustrations in a game. If ur frustrated or made a foul you knew wasnt smart, and a little man with an incredibly sassy, extra attitude runs upto you and books you, it certainly doesnt help. Probably doesnt have much to say at home and compensates on the pitch😂

@@TheRandomDudee When watching the 90 minute games he is actually very good. He does look like he is down. I’ve been told it’s just the way he is. Very calm on the ball. Also need to remember his fitness is managed as he is one of the older players.

The step up in quality for this league is huge, people need to remember that. Also, if anyone can sort this situation out, it's Devs and Joe. Give the boys time, still settling. I would also say, squad depth seems to be an issue at the minute.

This result might be a blessing for the team going forward. All those draws made it look like the team is ok, roster wise. Imo this game showed the three biggest problems # faces. A fast cb next to Haysom, a better rb [edit: lb] and a true scorer up front. I think AT has found his limit this year. As for Camilo, he has flair, but more often than not his last decision is the wrong one, wasting chances for him and for others.

I've never seen a freekick given against a keeper who handles it outside the box on a goal kick. But of course it's this ref who gives one, which made me go back and look at it closer. Pause the video at 18:56, and use the < and > keys to move it frame by frame. The keeper releases it from his hands a good distance inside his own box. Just not even a close call, but this ref was constantly looking for ways to be extra all game!

Alfie and AT should be starting together, the formation leaves us with a lack of presence in the final third, and every time Alfie comes on with AT we look dangerous. Could be a formidable duo if they get some time together, especially with all the crosses we produce. Go again, up the tags!

Agreed. You then have 2 proper CF's to gather the long options/diagonals and hold up play. Last season it felt like every time the ball went in the box we looked like scoring, unfortunately it looks the other way round this season. need more presence!

Match really showcases the difference at this level, most of their goals were great strikes that were placed well, how many players do we have that could even pull off shots like that given the time? They had plenty of composure, whereas anytime we have any chance of shooting it just always looked rushed.

Nigel Aris might be one of the most one-note players I've ever seen in my life. Whoever said "he puts his head down and sprints" has to be the most backhanded compliments you'd never want to hear. Brenden Aaronson vibes, I will hear no contest. Sam Cornish is being wasted in the 8 role, he's more of a 10. Restrepo is also a 10 but can play the LW since he's right footed. So play Restrepo on the LW, Cornish behind the striker, and maybe find a left footed RW to be more direct. If you're going to have your LB and RB pushing so high for crosses then you don't need your wingers to be crossers as well, let them be inverted and play more direct.

The season is summed up with one major flaw in the squad. Never fully replacing Jermaine Francis (not that you ever could!) but he played as two players at times! Believe the team can turn their form around, but not until someone steps up and really takes control of the mid (Cornish has been nearly there at times, but not with the same industry as Francis.
