Actually Bolt at 16 ran with a negative lean and does not match Johnson’s. Johnson’s technique was inarguably the most efficient. No unnecessary head roll or arm flail. If you notice his pelvis lines up with his neck. Ramrod straight. His remarkable stamina and cadence was what set him apart. He has been noted to remark how he was baffled by Bolt’s running during his 9:58 as to how much his body rocks back and forth and yet comes up a Winner! Bolt made up with sheer power!

Think about it this way! Plan Gout Gout's training so he doesn't get injured. He has at least 10 years to get better and better. A tenth here and there in improved capacity, strength and above all the starting momentum. Times of 9.7-9.8 should come soon with all possibilities of 9.5-9.6. I still think that 200 m will be his distance where he will soon show if he can reach Knighton's record. But see Knighton? He has been going backwards for two years. I don't think Gout will do that. I want to see a 300-400 m race between Gout and Tebogo= WR

Guot seems to have great thrust off each stride even at his peak speed, as opposed to flicking along at peak speed, as many other runners do. WRT the juniors, it seems to be the norm that many outstanding juniors do not go on to be at the top as adults. I would guess that college-level experience would be critical.

It's interesting to see that Gout is already running with a leg extension from the knee down. I've only seen a few actually move while doing that and not over extending like they are mimicking someone else. The Bolt comparison is not quite there for me. His form is waaaay more refined than Bolt's was. I get the stride length but nah, he doesn't remind me of Bolt at all. His form appears to be a lot closer to FloJo to my eyes. I've seen some runners who don't do well with the drive phase technique. And it's been a longtime since I've seen a runner get up and start striding earlier than 60 meters in a 100 thats effective. Does Noah classify as that type? hmm dunno. It will be nice to see how Gout gets trained as he grows. Will he develop a powerful start and transitions early or later down the track?

41 is just insane! This might be the most vital statistic to running anywhere close to 9.7! Bolt with his 6’5” frame learnt to convert his height to power and thus a longer stride without losing speed. It is this exact factor why we see both Bolt pull away from the rest. And now we see Gout Gout doing the exact same thing. The uncannily similar pulling away at the end is a telltale sign of greatness. Flo-Jo had the exact same long stride. I wonder what her stride count was….?

Flo Jo was 47 steps in her 88 year. She used a technique with an upright torso, high knee lifts and more air time at top end speed. In 87 and earlier she ran like most others relying excessively on leg turnover and had low knee lifts.
@madsmix
@madsmix 13 сағат бұрын
@ True. Flo-Jo had an amazing stride during her drive and top-end phases. Normally one has the forward leg do most of the work and the trailing leg to just catch up for its corresponding drive action. In her case she manages to flick her trailing leg forward faster than usual to reach the forward position for the drive. Fantastic shin muscles and quads! Quite akin to the up-down motion of the leg during a swim where they have almost equal power distribution. Marcell Jacobs has a very close flick without as high a knee position. It however does not translate to stride length.

Stride length has very little to do with top speed, and is only partly determined by height. It's just how far you can travel with each stride at a stride frequency that's optimal for you as an individual. Asafa Powel (6'4") took far more strides to run his world record than bolt (6'5") did to run around the same times early in his 100m career. Sorry to be annoying with the random facts.

Gout needs nurturing. He doesn't need a big head because he is fast. I think he could have a promising career with the proper trainers and his loving parents.

The face of athletics will turn to Tebogo for now. He has 100,200 and 400 talent. Gout gout, proper pronunciation is Goh-uuut goh-uut, he is southern sudanese, he will be world class but he has to watch out and not go the candace hill way. 100 race will always be open. Lyles has great top end, but he has to compete against the brutal power of kishane. And how kishane lost the last Olympics, he will win the world's this year. Tebogo will win 200 and he is working in his team mates for the 4by4, which at worst, will be a photo finish. Because he will run faster than the USA anchor. By LA 2028, he will attempt a quadriple. Which, I see it coming.

Just to point out, with names you generally place the stress on the second name - say, "Michael JORdan". Is "GOUT Gout" the exception here, or is it more correctly, "Gout GOUT"?

My son runs a 21.3 in the 200m and 10.93 in the 100m he is a freshman, can someone give me any predictions for his times this year. Also, my 8th grader ran 23 can someone tell me any predictions for that too?? My freshman son also says he is trying to get 20.7 in the 200 and 10.6-5, are these realistic goals? Thank you.

Those are realistic goals in a general sense. Everyone develops and peaks differently. The results will come with hard work grit and determination on top of natural ability. Have your boys emphasize strengthening core, calves, hamstrings, and biceps in off season.

Yeah, 16 is teenaged dumbass. He was born just down the road from Brisbane, a city of 3 million people, with significantly higher standards of living than most places on the planet including the US - if you’re suggesting there’s a birth certificate issue just because he’s of African descent.
