I want to try a few of those mini mating nucs. Nice to see Casey in the video! He definitely knows his bees.

Your partner gets a new nickname: “Hive Ninja”. Dude flows through the yard with a purpose and efficiency that’s a bit scary. You get the sense watching him he could do it all day.

I’m a queen breeder in Northern California. Where are you located? Been very busy and I don’t have a You Tube channel. Good luck 🍀 I don’t mind sharing ideas, but I got rid of those plastic inner covers and now use a light canvas so when feeding or adding cells you just peel back that area you need to expose plus stops them from building wax on the covers. Have fun

My dad used to take every sting that came along and he got hundreds until one day he felt strange after a sting. A few minutes later he dropped to the ground with anaphylactic shock. He barely survived and literally was declared dead by the hospital staff for a period of time. The exact same thing happened to my neighbor and then a year later to his son. Anaphylaxis can happen and it can end a beekeeping career.

Try using apple cider vinegar and liquid smoke spray ur hands and ankles I spray the bees one hitof spray when I open the lids it will drive bees down works great no more gloves or smorker
@allsmilz7234 Жыл бұрын
The gentleman in this video would definately receive lesd stings if he was using a smoker to desensitize the honeybees before disturbing them. Also on another note of your baaby nucs, not necessary to move to another location after cell stocking. Open the doors the following day and they will have already accepted their new home.. best wishes Emily 🐝👍💜

What I understand is you can get stung countless times, but then out of blue! You better have an epi-pen! So you're actually putting your life at risk. Understand! It's not as bad as fireant stings. Those the acid accumulates in your body until it becomes a medical emergency
@carmensarnecki437 Жыл бұрын
I've met beekeepers in this position and read about it often. Yet Apipuncture is done with many stings and quite frequently. Wonder if it could happen to anyone then.
@allsmilz7234 Жыл бұрын
@@carmensarnecki437apitherapy is a focused concept of exact placement of bee venom stings and isn't random any where stings.
@carmensarnecki437 Жыл бұрын
And why does random vs placed stibgs make a difference? The apitherapy protocol for MS has stibgs almost all over the entire body, spot by spot.
@s7rikersgaming7134 ай бұрын
the more you get stung the higher chance u have to randomly develop a allergy to bee stings, even if you previously did not have one, you can just out of the blue get stung once on a random day and enter into a severe reaction, and if you dont have a epi handy you could possibly be done.

Use a smoker on your hands before you start, and occasionally as you work. Antihistamines stop the reaction. Antacids with magnesium hydroxide will reduce swelling.

850 stings in one day? That's a lot of histamine your body has to address. I utilize Apitherapy and even then, there are limits to the number of stings per day/per week. The melittin is very healing and anti-inflammatory though.

Oh no not 850 per day. 850 stings over the course of his time as a beekeeper

I have pear trees in my bee yard, I would love to buy or trade some honey in the future maybe lol?? I will be getting some honey this year hopefully but my bees still have to build the foundation in there honey supers. I wanted to ask a couple questions, should I feed syrup to insure my honey supers get comb built? Also should I leave the queen excluder off while they are building comb in the honey supers? I know I want real honey with no syrup but maybe this year should I just worry about building up there supers and then after they build it out I could harvest some of the honey and syrup mix and then mark those frames when I put them back in the hive and stop feeding so I know that its real honey in those frames when i harvest?? Or should I just forget about honey harvest this year at all (second year)? I did get my 1st Nuc kinda late in the season last year so I was thinking I may not have to split this year but have discovered queen cells so I am about to do my 1st split this year to. Its a little intimidating but I hope to get as confident as you guys one day. Some days are better then others in the bee yard and I am sure you know that all to well also. Love your channel!

Your not a bee keeper so you have no idea on working bee hives , bees that won’t budge out of the way get squished yes , working numbers of hives all the time to get work done you can’t play tiddlywinks with them or you won’t get anything done , bee keepers don’t like squashing bees but there is no way around it when there is huge numbers of bees as you seen , you need to work bees yourself then you will have your answer , bees will bee sacrificed no matter what you do , learn bee keeping then you will see for your self.
