1:20:23 "I'm proud of..." That was one of the best, most heartfelt, most anti-toxic shows of vulnerability that I've seen on KZbin in a while. I'm glad that amidst the hobby stuff, we get these little gem moments. As a low engagement subscriber and nerd hobbyist who is much older than both of you, this statement is why I watch the channel. I wish more of gaming as a hobby was able to shed some of the bad vibes from old stereotypes (which, to be fair, are still alarmingly going strong).

Really sad that Will and Bob couldn't coexist on the channel. I started watching them back then even though I'm still not into Nintendo or comics. I've just enjoyed how much attention to quality they've provided. And I like listening knowledgable people about their field no matter how I am interested in that field. Wills comic book content was top notch and he proves that this skill is universal since everytime he's on a podcast he shows knowledge of very specific gaming-related facts

This podcast made me think back to my childhood video game memories. Super Mario World was a big one for me, but the two that stand out the most are Super Castlevania 4 and Super Ghouls N Ghosts. The music from both those games still randomly plays in my head from time to time 25 years later.

Thanks for the video guys! It was nice hearing your different stories that led you to the same place and time. I'm glad that the 'rebirth' of Wulffden didn't cause any troubles for Bob and Will; despite what both of you said, I've seen plenty of people who are close/love each other fall apart over truly trivial things, let alone what ended up being Bob's career. Looking forward to the next episode!

It was awesome hearing you guys talk about your lives, and how they got to this point. I've seen woods old depression video, kind of highlighting what you went through as a child with his parents and everything and how he grew up so I have a little bit of background knowledge on that (I've been watching Beatemups since Dec 2019), but it was awesome hearing how things progressed after that into what he is now! And it was also pretty neat to think back on how Bob's channel used to be, and how it's changed! I've been watching Wolf den since about the same time as I started watching Beatemups, and I remember the comic book videos with Will that were intertwined with the video game content from Bob. I remember the video talking about how will was leaving for a while because he was having a kid, and things were just getting complicated and so it was just going to be Bob on the channel for the foreseeable future. I used to watch The Wolf den podcast all the time! I was pretty bummed out to see it go, and I should really pop into your guys's new one. It's crazy how things can change! And it's been awesome watching both of your channels grow over the past few years, and it's been awesome seeing your guys's friendship blossom as well! Keep killin it guys, you're doing great!

I too had the mysterious SNES just show up in my house. I loved Nintendo for a long time. Some of my favorite games were Ghouls and Goblins, Super Mario World, Wheel of Fortune, Dennis the Menace, and Page Master. I even played that bad Michael Jordan game because I had a crush on him. Got that mystery 64 at some point. That became the family console and I got the SNES. My little brother got a playstation and I used to watch him but rarely got to play. I got to play a few playstation games at friends houses. But handheld was where I really started loving games. I loved my handheld. The Gameboy advanced was my favorite. Still is. But my love of games faded and then slowly got brought back by PC gaming. Sadly I didn't ever get many games for it. My mom got a new fancy pc and stuck her big box pc in my room. But I had very few games. That's where my deep love of Sim games started. I put countless hours into Rollercoaster Tycoon, Mall Tycoon, and Zoo Tycoon. Because I didn't get a ton games though I didn't get to experience many games. Of it wasn't a sim game or a free mmo (SO much time on Runescape) I didn't get to play it if it was on pc. I was also in a religious household. So most pc games I didn't get to experience. I never got to even own a point and click. I loved them though through playing them on the pc's in the library or at school. I played Monkey Island as an adult and it made me so happy because I always wanted to play it. But the games that got me into point and clicks are probably ones no one here will know. An old D.A.R.E. game and Junkland Jam. I loved Junkland Jam and played it whenever I could. I always wanted the physical copy with the harmonica. I almost never play console games anymore, and am mostly pc despite growing up on Nintendo. Because there were so many games I didn't get to experience as a kid and it's like I get to enjoy them now as an adult. It's also why I adore indies. Because AAA devs aren't making point and clicks. Childhood also made me want VR super bad and when I could afford to get a headset as an adult I got it. It's an HTC Vive and I love it. The thing that got me into VR? It was a headset with a single game. It was power rangers and it was just black and green pixelated bad guys running at your face. You hand wires connecting from the headset to cuffs on your ankles and wrists and you just punched or kicked to beat the bad guys. It was a terrible game but it made me want VR so bad. Wish I still had it.

Adelaide had a few Arcades, the big ones were Downtown (Hindley Street), Magic Mountain (Glenelg), and Dazzel Land (Myer Centre) . I played G-loc once at Downtown, it was expensive, but super fun. I'm sure Wood just forgot about them. There were also Time zones out at a few places for years, TTP had one, and Marion. In the 2000's there were a few arcades still eg at Elizabeth after the upgrades to the shopping centre. I'm not sure if there was an arcade at Noarlunga*, but there was a small arcade area in the 10 pin Bowling centre. I did google search it but gave up after the third result was about murders. Nothing about an arcade :/
