Seeing such a functional squad lead is amazing. There will be times where I have to ask my SL multiple times for information of where mortars are landing. There needs to be better training for different roles.

A solid ambush is so satisfying in squad because you literally need everyone in the squad to listen to orders. you need your marksman and officer reconing and patience from the whole squad until they are in the kill zone

Are the Insurgent weapons modded? Or do they finally have access to better optics? Had a friend group get tired of Squad entirely because they kept getting assigned as Insurgents facing off against Rangers with decked-out weapon systems. Despite enjoying many games and different factions, At a certain point, the constant mismatching of forces can leave one team completely outmatched in their ability to properly identify and engage targets.

The "faction" portrayed here is ISIS, which is not in the original game. This is from a mod. As for the normal "Insurgents" faction from the vanilla game: the reason the dev did not gave you optics on rifle was NOT to make it harder for you to do long range or even middle range engagements. It was to make sure you don't even try to. You are supposed to play the game in an asymmetric way, hiding and lurking in the dark while letting the conventional enemy move freely around the map, because as soon as they will walk in your area of control, you will ambush them and destroy them to the 7 hells. You want to hold on places where you can engage at short distance, where your ironsight will shine and they long-range optics will be a problem for them. Also places where you can easily sneak on the back of their armor with your RP7. Same with IED mounted on bikes. Anything that involves large open space and you should not even try to go there. Insurgents have a lot of tools that enables them to move rapidly around the map (bikes, smaller logi, techys, buddy rally!!), always being unpredictable (you think your East flank is doing well and all of a sudden a IED drone takes out your MBT), they are very resilients (each radios gives you 2 spawns), their Sapper can be a pain in the ass (unlimited in their team + they can ride bikes and go anywhere on the map + mines + IED). Also Hellcanon. I'm not saying that the Insurgents faction is perfect in vanilla Squad, they might indeed need so rework. But by far the N°1 reason why people feel the faction is weak and they loose is because people insist on playing the Insurgents as a conventional faction. You can't! You can't and you will be rightfully punished if you try

Amateur stuff. My record is 11 vics solo with just mines. The trick is to take a bike and just constantly run mines. Places 4 RTB and repeat. Most of the time you just replace mines on the same road as people in Squad are basically NPCs. They'll assume since 1 vic hit a mine there they must have cleared the road for them.. The more vics you kill on the same road the safer they seem to think the road is. Its hilarious.

Laptop probably isn’t a good start unless you’re balling out on a set up. Just cause of the games stress it puts even on good built desktops but parts technology is good today I’m sure you can get a decent laptop to run it just not optimally

I can never see the guys these youtubers see... not even a dot lol. And I've played squad with a newer 3000 dollar gaming laptop and you can barely see the enemies in the game... so yeah was a huge bummer

Lower your FOV. High FOV is nice for peripheral vision but makes seeing things at a distance more difficult. Also disable any visual effects that you don't absolutely need. And look up a visual settings guide for Sqaud, they'll show you what each setting does and how it affects the visuals in game.
