you done a nice job on that bus aspecially in the short timeframe you had make sure the bus is driven every 2 weeks to a month apart , this prevent stuff from seizing up electric connections corroding , oil gets back intoo the places it ran out of and the airsystem doesnt collect moisture and rust out , this is the main reason why (rv conversion) busses break down on the road , they sit for a year (during the build out then get used for long drives and start to experiance oil leaks airleaks engine overheating charge sytem / lights / brakes stop working allso make sure to protect the tires from direct sunlight while its stored , the uv light destroys the rubber and those tires are expensive to replace the colour of the bus isnt too bad , and it isnt yellow wish is not alowed in some states because its a schoolbus specific colour , wat you could do is only partially repaint it in either the same colour or an offset colour (like cream white ) check out tractor / impliment paint from tractor supply its cheap and good paint might be a good idea to put some sort of deck on top of the bus and mount it to the sides (dont drill through the roof) walking acros the bare roof probably isnt a good idea as the flexing can cause the sealand between the roofpanels to crack and the roof to leak as for touring in the uk maibe get a few station wagons . vans and two caravans , these should hold all the people youre touring with along with the gear and shouldnt cost you all that mush , whont be able to go fast as cars with trailers are restricted to about 80 kmh i think cheapest place to get used cars or luton vans in europe probably is poland , there left hand drive though and not real sure on how to go about register and insuring it (might need local adres and even local person with driverslicence to put it in his name )

This is really cool. I think this is the only way a lot of bands will be able to afford touring in the future, so seeing a build like this is really cool. I can't remember ever seeing a DIY tour bus build on YT, all the bus builds are those van/bus life influencers making essentially the same thing but also forcing their kids to live in there.
@MikeRivkees2 күн бұрын
Those influencers have some great looking builds! We knew we had to go all out and sand and stain the wood if we were gonna keep up with their picturesque instagram builds. and OH MY GOD I can't believe how many of them are jailing their offspring in those things and making them talk on camera about "how free it is to be an 8 year old with noooo schooool! :D" frightening really.

G'day Mike, Yes, I did just find your tour bus videos, and yes, I am enjoying them. But, I do have at least one question for you: you guys have heard of The Partridge Family, right? Being an old cheeky Aussie myself, I want you to watch an entire episode, if only to screw with your minds. LOL But, that looks like a great build, and a great use of the space available. The thought of nine people using it all at once blows my mind - I've lived in a 34' boat, with 3 other people, and I know how tough it can be. I like the way the "features" of your bus are permanent, instead of being "convertible", like they usually are in boats or caravans. There's also a part of me wondering if you can get a golf cart on your bus. The cart can be coverted to a ute (Aussies know), so you can carry your gear easily. Thanks for a great video. I'm hoping there'll be more videos of your bus in the future. I'll be watching them all. I'm looking forward to seeing the bus painted. All the best Andrew
@MikeRivkees2 күн бұрын
Hah, I have gotten a lot of Partridge Family comments, but I haven't seen the show (I was born in 89). I'll definitely give it a go haha. Oh man, a golf cart ute would be SOOOO nice. 3 of my bandmates are from Sydney and I went to school there so oh I know utes! I watched a lot of sailboat liveaboard videos to get inspiration for ways to find storage. Cheers!

If you can run on shore-power most of the time, do a couple RV roof AC/Heat Pumps. You can add dual high-amp alternators, a couple extra batteries and a big inverter to allow you to run them while on the road. (Or use a generator, but then you have to figure out where/how to mount it.) Mini-splits real benefit is the efficiency when you want to rely on solar and batteries to run them. But if you don't care about how efficient the power usage is, it is way easier to slap a self containted roof A/C on.
@MikeRivkees2 күн бұрын
Ah we were about to buy a roof A/C, but it wasn't going to arrive in time, and the temporary floor unit actually worked well enough for us to say "eh we'll do it because it's free." But that's definitely something we'd think about doing by next summer.

Hah that was such a great era to be touring. My old band in high school booked our first tour on Myspace back in 2006. We did Connecticut to Georgia.
@heartofodds2 күн бұрын
You're going to want to revisit that power situation. That's easy to do pretty bougie these days. You could get some dc appliances, It's a lot easier if your power use is all dc and you use ac power more intermittently, like with on the spot, low wattage inverters. There's plenty of info and ideas out there. You've got to keep new batteries separate, with an isolator, so you want a batch you charge together to probably be a decent size. Idk, but i'd probably try to use that ecoflow for ac power, and run a/c and everything else on separate set of batteries. Very nice.
@MikeRivkees2 күн бұрын
Ah yeah that does sound like a way better solution that what we currently have. Definitely want to build that out in the future.

@zbynekkowalski22022 күн бұрын

Kemper. It’s a paddle board that you can program to mimic the sound of any amp that you plug it into, so then you don’t use an amp on stage, you just plug that into the PA system. It just feels very weird, not having an amp on stage so people don’t like them. However, they are extremely convenient.

@MikeRivkees2 күн бұрын
HAH, no good question. Well on bigger tours, the venues have showers. If not, the campsites do. If we're not at a campsite, we've stayed at truck stops that have them too- and they're nicer than you'd think (sometimes). Then DUDE WIPES sent us a giant box of their product, which are essentially baby wipes, but those are great for when you're on the road all day and you're just SWEATY. Brushing teeth is the one annoying thing. I did a lot of parking lot teeth brushing with a bottle of water to rinse. Quite the site.
