this is without a doubt the best poly low tunnel design I have ever seen. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

This is pure gold! Anyone who doesn't like this info still believe bunnies lay chocolate eggs. The 3/4" black pipe, are those 6 foot lengths?

I wondered the same thing. Did you ever find the answer?

I’d love a tutorial video on making the metal low tunnel hoops. Did you use a small hoop bender?

Hi Curtis; Thanks so much for the kind words. We find that sharing our passion with & learning from others such as yourself is immensely rewarding. It helps build the community! Also, a big thanks to you and all your hard work. Even though we are on the Flower Side of Ag, we have been greatly influenced by the innovation in tools and processes from you folks on the Veg Side.

Nice i use 1/2 inch pex pipe and 3/8 rebar and 6mm poly in Austin for my tunnels for double insulation i use frost blankets in my small 2' by 10' raised beds. I hav3nt done any kind of venting and tie down and will do this moving forware. Beware of non UV chord from your box store!!!
@BareMtnFarm Жыл бұрын
Sounds like your design works pretty good. I use polypropylene baling twine which is cheap and UV resistant.

Super information! Please tell the name of the planting knife. Thanks
@BareMtnFarm3 жыл бұрын
Hi @Judy B. The planting knife we use is called a hori-hori knife . I use this everyday its very durable and one edge is serrated which easily cuts weeds or small roots. You can find this knife through our Amazon Storefront at this link: www.amazon.com/shop/baremtnfarm?listId=27CJ4FGOK8U90 Full disclosure we do make a slight incentive fee for purchases made through our storefront on Amazon and this in no way affects your purchase price. This is just a way we could help organize and show things we may read or use on the farm and the small incentive from Amazon helps support the channel. Thanks for watching!

What weight of agribon are you using? It looks pretty heavy. Thanks

We use agribon 50 for frost protection. Thanks for watching.

Extremely helpful! Have you ever considered double plastic? Would that have insulation properties without reduced light transmission?
@BareMtnFarm7 жыл бұрын
Hi Ali; we've never tried double plastic. A thought I have on that is that without creating a layer of air between the two plastic layers the extra insulating effect of 2 sheets of plastic laying one directly on the other might be low. We have found the insulating effect of a single layer of plastic is quite low, maybe 1-2 deg. The major benefit is protection from wind and rain.
@barbottolino25196 жыл бұрын
the agribon 50 has better thermal properties than plastic. Check Johnny's Seeds site for frost ratings on various weights of agribon.

Hi, how to provide water to the plants?
@BareMtnFarm5 жыл бұрын
We have driptape inside the tunnel with a control valve on the edge of the bed.
