I love your videos and especially the relationship you have with your daughter. So touching to see. I’m booked Cairns to London late April to pay my respects to my mum who died last year in the UK. I’m hoping some of the madness dissipates and it settles down a little. I’m a runner and will get a 50km trail race in as well during my short stay. Take care and keep the videos coming.

Hi Stef. Just watched your video. Interesting how little IFR procedures differ between OZ & US. You showed a departure route out of Bankstown, which was great. We can choose NOT to do a SIDs if we want to here. Can you in OZ? Also, we have to get our clearance before taxiing and usually have a clearance void Time if not airborne by a certain time. Love popping out of the clouds. Awesome every time. Thanks for the video mate.

Cool video. The reason why Australia has such a busy air route is because there is only one commercial airport in each big city. If you counted all the traffic going from, say, San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles area it'd be 8 times SYD-MEL traffic. LA has LAX, BUR, SNA, ONT, LGB alone. All busy commercial passenger airports. SF has 3 busy international airports.

Hi Stef, great video. I was wondering, what’s the highest altitude you’ve flown in EYZ? I hope in 2022 aviation starts to come back to its former glory, as it’s sad seeing the lack of air traffic. I’ve been on a 10 day scout camp in Elmore, I’ve just gotten back. The weathers a little nicer up there compared to Ballarat (Maybe even a little too hot), but at night I’ve been able to see the aircraft fly over coming to Melbourne. Hopefully there will be even more this time next year. Cheers.

In the ATC call at 2:47, it's very confusing, the controller said, climb 2 5 thousand which could be read as 25000ft or "to 5000ft"
@StefanDrury7 ай бұрын
A good point, however they said the right thing - if they meant 25,000 feet it would have been said as "climb to FLIGHT LEVEL 250" as opposed to "climb to FIVE THOUSAND" for 5,000 feet. Here in Australia our transition altitude is 10,000' - anything below is an altitude, above is a flight level. This avoids the confusion that otherwise would occur.
