Stonnie, I love watching you work with kids almost as much as I like watching you work with dogs. You're incredibly patient, fair, and enthusiastic for their effort and success. Young Ms Val did a great job handling Country! That was a rough job and Val rose to the challenge like a boss!!

This is such a good way to work with timid dogs! I feel bad for Country - what she has been through is really tough. Glad she has found her way to you for help. The kids in this video all did a great job! And I see a boxer! Love them. I can’t wait to see him in more videos!

👏👏👏 GO COUNTRY!!! Sad to see a dog end up in this sort of situation....however this video couldn't have been as effective a teaching tool without her issues. I wish all beings could learn to work through their "stuff"....so glad to see helpful solutions rather allowing the dog to live in fear & isolation. Uncle Stonnie is the best! A million thanks on behalf of dogs everywhere! 🎉

I like how that little terrier is circulating around the course "supervising" and the boxer running around and being goofy .
@rosagroen29643 ай бұрын
My experience with boxers and terriers is that terriers are always serious about everything whether it’s working/playing or chilling they always commit. Boxers are just lovable bouncy goofballs who often are just happy to be there and enjoying every moment. Not the smartest but definitely one of the happiest dogs.

Poor Country's just lost. Her sole source of leadership faded away and her world just changed for her without any direction and confidence. That's definitely going to help her to learn to follow people in general to rebuild her sense of emotional balance and to settle into just being a pack member with good leadership to help her along. There's a sweet dog hiding inside that shell. She's got good things to look forward to with Uncle Stonnie to help her cope and learn. That boxer is just wanting to learn how to fit in and please anyone possible. And that little retriever pup is offering as much enthusiasm and help as a pup can do.

This is so encouraging. My chocolate lab is very reactive to other dogs on leash. I have been walking him but other people avoid him because of his aggression. I need to find a neighbor with a dog that doesn’t react to walk near/with. To walk it out of him.

Hello Stonnie- I have absolutely loved your videos. So much amazing advice. Thank You. I’m wondering if you’ve made a video or written on how to handle end of life for your dogs. Our 12 y/0 black lab mix got lymphoma and we gave her chemo. She improved a lot for several months but it returned and eventually she succumbed. It was very hard. As I reflect on this I wonder how you think of your dogs at the end of life and how you handle it. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Loved this. Our last dog was somewhat timid. Our current dog is fearless . . . are there problems with confident dogs?
@marrrrrrrrrrrrry2793 ай бұрын
From personal experience, my over confident dog thinks nothing will hurt her and doesn’t think twice before she does something really stupid. Recently ran into this issue when I took my dog to a lake, she jumped down a 5ft drop into muddy water and continued to try and take off without a care until she hit the end of the leash. This resulted in me climbing down (I’m 5’2) to get her butt out of the muddy water. Afterwards we went to go clean off, I look away for two seconds (picking up a rusted fish hook) and she had ran up to greet a dog that started barking and growling and she thought that laying down would solve her issues, not that the dog just didn’t like her. She was on a long line so I got her back easily, but what I’m trying to show is over confident means more stupid decisions. Although I much prefer the over confident personality than the timid one, this was something that I never expected to happen. Would have never gotten into any of those situations with my parent’s timid, cautious dog.

Stonnie, what would you do, when an off leash dog runs into you and your dog and tries to bully or even attack your dog. How would you prevent that? How to set that dog boundaries even before he reaches you? How to keep your own dog calm and confident and well behaving instead of getting reactive due to such incidents?

2:45 I just don't understand how this is reactivity. My dog would be flipping her wig at the mere sight of a dog. She's 4 now almost. At 2 she was able to be around everyone and every animal. Don't know what changed.
@StonnieDennis3 ай бұрын
Watch this video plus the videos I made last month about reactivity and you will begin to understand.
@myhounddog3 ай бұрын
What about the really reactive Dogs. You know the ones who would have knocked over that whole entire course out of fear. The one who Houdini out of their tightest collar. The ones who get so freaky deaky they crawl backwards from anything new 🆕??? Or they bark non stop to alert you that its new 🆕.

@@StonnieDennisMaybe the Dad is “a super nice guy” as you say. The dynamic I saw indicates trust is broken. Every interaction with him showed fear. Hmm. Okay Stonnie, that’s my observation. Great video as always. I get the concept.

@StonnieDennis that's what you call reactivity? I'm fighting to not have to rehome my poor dog because she barks at EVERYTHING and lunges. I would kill for my dog to behave like this one. I would give anything to have you fix my aussie.
@jackglockstar2 ай бұрын
@StonnieDennis youre reaction and reactivity in these videos is on a level 1. These aren't "reactive" dogs. You literally have them around other dogs and people with zero barking or unwanted behavior. Twitching ears isn't what people with problem dogs need help with. It's lunging and barking and actually being reactive in explosive ways.
