Eating small frequent meals also raises your blood sugar and insulin more often...perhaps a phased approach of different meal frequencies every few weeks to keep the body guessing is also good, in terms of following the concept of changing things up? Switching to two or one meal a day helps stabilize blood sugar and keep it low, for some people. Not to mention fasting once in a while. Then 3+ meals a day for a few weeks.

@@pat-realfoodnanu9050 Have you tried adjusting down the fat and increasing protein? Some people do fine on a 80/20 macro, and some do fine with butter. I tried upping my fat for two months with extra butter (yum) , gained 12# and increased 2 pant sizes! This after losing 35# the first year of carnivore, but I was under-eating and not helping my hormones any. I'm 66 yrs 5'4" currently weigh 141#. I'm now limiting butter to 4T/day and aim for at least 1800kcal, as Lillie recommended. Some days I eat 2000-2400, but most days I barely make 1800. It's a lot of work for me to eat that many calories, so for my digestion I stopped trying to eat OMAD and now eat 2-3 meals, just so I can consume sufficient calories. Simply switching my macros to 75/25 has helped me a lot and I've lost my thick waist in the past 2 weeks, along with 3#, and am back down one size. Lillie the topic of the ACV reminded me of this, but I'm curious if you have tried ACV on your scalp? Mixing a splash of ACV in water and pouring it over your scalp after shampooing can help to rebalance the pH of your scalp. Also, using shampoo without sls. SLS can cause irritation to an already sensitive scalp.

Unless you have a long list of genuine food sensitivities, the carnivore style of eating should not be a long term diet. It is meant to be an elimination diet, a mono diet to identify which foods your system is having a negative reaction to, as you reintroduce 1 food at a time after a 30-60 day fast from all other foods except meat. A meat-heavy diet is far too acidic for the body, long term it will lead to conditions like cancer, liver problems, heart disease and osteoporosis. Fruits and vegetables have a major alkalinizing effect on the blood and total system. Many serious diseases thrive in an acidic environment. I have not heard you mention the very important consideration of the acid / alkaline balance in any of your videos. I would be interested to hear what you guys have to say about this because you are promoting a carnivore style diet here. You can say "We are only saying what we do, what people choose to do is their own business" but I feel this is just avoiding responsibility for what you are essentially promoting as a lifestyle while making an income from your KZbin channel. Please do a video to address this, it really is the elephant in the room as far as the carnivore diet goes.

While we do eat a lot of meat, neither of us eat a carnivore diet :) I promote the "eat the foods that make you feel the best" diet

@@LillieKane I understand you are experimenting and always open to new knowledge. What do you think about the acid / alkaline balance? Is it not something you consider important or worth addressing?

I was a long time raw food vegan, vegan and then vegetarian. I bought into the idea that the body is too acidic. I was OBSESSED with the idea that certain foods were too acidic. I ended up over alkalizing my body. Hair fell out, digestion tanked...food came out looking the same as when it went in. Turns out the body needs to be acidic. I look back at all the raw food, "alkalize your body" idols that I used to follow and they all look terrible now, and some have died of cancer. I'm so glad I researched and found the truth about food. I'm 51, I look and feel younger than most 30 year olds and my life time battle with cellulite is reversing because I'm finally producing enough collagen to repair my skin!
