@@micah2426 for low budget films? Yes. But cgi can and will always enhance movie immersion and overall experience. Im gonna give you a few prime examples right now. Planet of the apes released in 1968, it looked like shit all the way up into our era until we fixed it with proper cgi. Same goes for star wars. Transformers? Blade runner? Tron? These are just the some of the best examples of cgi intensive movies that require the cgi. Many movies use little bits of cgi u dont even realize that completely changed the vibe of the scene. It does "usually" help the movie immensely.

Honestly the best visual FX are the ones they did as normal concealers or touch ups. Its the stuff you didn’t notice like windows, objects or drop in composites. Sound is hard especially for airplanes because the volume of the planes is often as loud as the machine gun fire. And in the air it shouldn’t be so distinct. It should have more space and distance from the cameras position to that of the sound source especially when dealing with high rates of speed like planes. Its a small but crucial detail.

This Short Movie is Brilliant.... looks every bit High Budget and Big Movie Studio produced. I was amazed by how polished yet POV throughout film. It looks and feels like WWII somewhere safe from Nazi Aircraft. David is about to have the adventure of his lifetime. Casting David was pure magic. His acting is so IRL that it doesn't look like acting at all. Very natural and nothing distracts from the story line. I first saw this short on Omeleto. It is fun to have a back stage pass as you share your perspective. Obviously someone got a good foundation in film school. But that is just a starting point. These are the stories I love to see - couple of dedicated young film makers who have passion and enthusiasm, want to make real movies... location shoots, dealing with weather, in camera effects, miniatures but still clever use of modern digital effects too, like planning the model shoot and cleaning up the backgrounds. Some people just want to make whizz-bang big CGI effects movies, but with no real story. Have a great story like this one, and the effects don't need to be blockbuster, this has shown getting good results from different cheaper methods is still viable. Congratulations on a job well done!
