I dry the vehicles with opti seal after using ONR and finish with the spray wax for that extra step by hand , i like how your guys use the machine to prep the paint. If the customer is watching it definitely adds that extra mystique to the service.

If no polishing I'd just clay mitt with beadmaker or similar and skip paint prep and orbital wax, save a ton of time same result imo. Why are sticking with liquid wax?
@excessivemedia92952 жыл бұрын
So you're using a liquid wax.. can I just use the same wax that's already included in the shampoo is that considered a wash and wax.. also can you elaborate on how cold it is for your and your employees fingers in the hands washing in these cold weathers.. I'm in California and in the morning around 8:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. it's still 50° or 45° weather and my hands freeze .

It depends on what state you live in, among a few other things, but in Arizona, this would cost $500 at a lot of companies. Having employees definitely helps with the time. I’m just one girl so this’ll take up a whole day for me, but that may be because I want everything to be perfect and can get into that “ocd” point.
@AnthonySanchez-oh9do2 жыл бұрын
@@tillmandetailing same I spend a lot of time going over the little imperfections but also you gotta give what you are getting paid for. That’s is crazy about the 500 though might need to move this detailing thing to another state!

Why should you clay before waxing, doesn't the clay cause marring? And wax won't remove that. (Asking a genuine question not hating) Would appreciate some feedback as I'm learning too.
@brandomedia87112 жыл бұрын
Surface contaminants don’t allow for the wax to fully bond with the surface so Clay bar helps that bond while also getting rid of the sand paper feeling. People love to feel that paint too when their car is waxed so that’s another thing. The marring is only really going to be noticeable when you are using a clay bar. Clay mitts like they were using tend to leave a lot less marring.
@DetailGroove2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does, but not every customer cares about that. You really have to communicate and understand what your customers wants

So if you work 8 hours you get 4 cars done (on a good day) with 3 guys. You make over 1k a day, probably pay your guys around 150 a day, so you pocket 700 a day minus product. So you make like around 400 a day? 6 days a week that's 2400/week. You can clear at least 7-8k a month I'm guessing?
