How we Winter Overlanded in our Subaru Foresters and Crosstrek!

The Forester: Built over a few years the 2004 Subaru Forester XS was built to test the limits of what is capable in an early 2000's Subaru with bolt-ons. Created for overlanding adventures it takes on the hardest offroad trails while having everything for camping. The Forester features: custom interior, rooftop tent, ARB rack with custom mounts, high clearance bumper, winch, Hella lights, transmission cooler, sway bar delete, offroad coilovers, AT tires, Beadlock wheels, overland kitchen and engine and trans skid plates. And to many people's surprise often keeping up with full-size 4x4s.

About Chase Schrader: Based in Alberta, Canada, Chase Schrader is a multidisciplinary digital creative that focuses on automotive content. Thanks for your amazing video.i think you should alternative channel as KZbin doesn't let you have many views. And what brand tyred did you all guys had there ? I think bf Goodrich at wouldn't have problems in that much deep snow

Glad you enjoyed it! Haha yeah its a fight with the algorithm, unfortunately this is actually my second channel. I find the best way to beat the algorithm is viewer engagement, just like your doing! Thanks for commenting, I appreciate it! I had x-ice tires but the the Crosstrek has BFGoodrich KO2's. The problem wasn't the depth rather how it was packed down. Soon as we broke through we got high centered and couldn't move.

Haha yeah, the deep snow can be a pain! That's definitely on my list of mods!

Can you do the 50/50 4WD mod that locks the center diff?

Since it has the 4EAT first and second will lock the center diff but because the front and rear diffs are open I usually get just two wheels going haha. I have a rear locker planned so hopefully that helps!

Hey whats up? Great video with subbies out. I got a question, wouldn't be a bit warmer if u set sleeping bed inside the car rather than on roof top tent? U have got an experience, relying on your advice, thanx in advance

Hey thank you! That is a good question, sleeping in a roof top tent is preferable due to its increased in insulation from the cold sleeping surface and increased airflow. It is also a lot more comfortable then sleeping in car since you need the windows open a tad to reduce condensation inside.
