How Well Strat Single Coils Do Metal?

I use an ordinary squier affinity strat with single coils and also myself i have a fairly good metal sound. Often alnico pickups are brighter than cheap stock ceramics that i find more useful with high gain.

Nice tone. It's really about your pedals and amp settings. ( to fatten up tone ) I did find using 10's helps too compared to 9's as far as string guage as well. Just my opinion.

Thanks. Yeah, i use 10 size strings with my strat with Eb tuning. Definitely gonna use 10's with strat but, other guitars i use 9's because i have strain injury at my left hand, my fretboard hand.

Nice video, are they stock pickups? Did you use noise gate?

Hi. Noup, stock pickups was texas special models. 69's are way better. There was noise gate, yes.

Ive played double coil humbuckers all my life I'm 51 years old now, and i just bought a dream guitar it is a single coil fender that i can't afford but said fuck it I'm buying it, and have played it but not connecting it yet im struggling financially
