They have the tag line "In 28 Years, they evolved". So it's most likely that the virus did mutate and evolved, some of the infected that survived are better, faster and able to think at least on a basic problem solving level and they're able to hunt at this point that's how they survive while the mindless ones decayed. The trailer showed a singular shirtless/buffed tall infected terrorizing our group and a squad of armed men in the dark so it is possible that not only are they smarter, and faster, some are more resilient too.

Would be rough. Either couldn't use the same characters or they'd have to spend a buttload of money on that dual-camera de-aging tech. By time-skipping forward, they can skip explaining stuff like how TWD time-skipped forward to have Rick (attractive alpha male that had a hot wife) sleeping with Michonne (one of the ugliest female characters in the show that always looks like she smelled her own farts and sucked on a lemon at the same time).
@EmmanQuinones52347 ай бұрын
@@tk-hf4oz That would be nice. Im hoping your statement becomes true in some way. One way I thought of this working would be if 28YL is instead the "nth" pandemic of RV. This pandemic is the worst one and it is almost about to wipe out humanity. The story would then revolve around the people trying to survive in a world like that BUT no explanation on why this happened. Just snippets and we just focus on our MCs (sort of) stand-alone story. Then, we go to 28ML, a prequel that shines light on the 3RD pandemic. We reveal that this 3rd one will actually cause the domino effect that will continue to plague humanity for the next 3 decades or so. We might focus on the people that will likely start this pandemic. Either they are carriers doing the dumdum or normal people doin the dumdum. Either sounds good to me. We then reveal a secret of the virus (this secret can be made up for these new movies but it has to make sense somehow and not feel too cheesy). This secret has then to be mentioned in 28YL BUT only revealed during 28ML. We explore further on this secret that is the cause behind the carriers in 28HL and it explains why the virus is so persistent and aggresive allowing human bodies to last 28 days of no clear nutrition and no rest. In 28HL, we follow the scientists and medical personells that are on the case of Patient Zero for britain's demise in the first pandemic. And, that's it. I honestly do not know how to tie all of that together and how good this is but that's my proposal for it.

how about smart zombies? don was different from the infected in the first movie. he stalked his kids throughout the whole film, knew how to open doors, took cover from the shooting, poison gas and bombings, and even used a weapon... so, since that he bit andy, and tammy touched him, maybe she rubbed her eyes or something which also infected her. but since the virus got passed between family members (two of which are carriers), maybe it mutated to stay dormant for a while, infecting many people who later became ticking time bombs, until they just suddenly turned and caused the outbreak in paris... maybe this newer strain made them keep most of their higher brain functions working, like memory, they could also eat now or don't puke blood anymore, or have a more stable heart rate while locked in constant rage and aggression
@marcfilms9994 ай бұрын
He was certainly unique in the setting. I believe maybe it has to be a certain gene? Like how the mom and the son were immune because of a certain gene? He used such good tactics like opening doors for the infected, running in the crowds of people as cover. He seemed to still love his kids. I think he was trying to infect them so they'd be like him. He obviously wasn't all there. Just seemed to retain certain aspects of his personality as well as problem solving skills. He was very strategic in how he was stalking the kids. I think he could've maybe had a higher sense of smell for tracking the kids across the city?

I think the worst scenario is that other animals could be passive carriers of the virus. Imagine the horror of a world with any dog, cat, rat or bat being a potential carrier, not even mentioning mosquitos.
@Flintlockon7 ай бұрын
Indeed! It's canon after all the original movie had the virus transmitted to human from an ape. And that ape was crazy with rage virus so what if it also makes every single animal on the earth infected. A flock of birds on the horizon . .. . A butterfly in your garden . . . Even the tuna are deadly!
@adansilveira20317 ай бұрын
@@Flintlockon I think that makes more sense that only mammals could be carriers, just like rabies. Still a very bleak world to live on, a society that will develop a phobia from any other mammal, needing desperately to exterminate any cattle, feral populations of pigs or domestic pets. Having to isolate themselves in places free from rats, bats and mosquitos and violentely persecuting any human that reveals themselves to be passive carriers. PS: Sorry my broken english Hahaha.
@officechairpotato3 ай бұрын
@@adansilveira2031 Birds can carry rabies asymptomatically. But they don't spread it either as a result. If a rabid animal bites a bird and it gets away, the bird now has rabies. You'd need a semi-symptomatic carrier immune to the lethal effects of rabies, but symptomatic enough for the virus to well up in the saliva glands, rather than it chilling in the blood. This is difficult as it implies brainward migration of the virus to reach those glands, but then for some reason not infecting the brain, or at least, not lethally infecting it. If you took rabid bird blood and injected it into yourself, you would get rabies. The rage virus appears substantially more transmissible than ordinary rabies, it's not implausible that birds would be asymptomatic carriers capable of infecting others in that case.

I like the concept of the carriers in hiding, with infected mostly dead or too weak to be a real threat anymore, but carriers being hunted because of their potential starting another outbreak. I like the idea better of 28 Years over 28 Months now - it’ll function as a soft reboot and probably have some satirical commentary about humankind inspired by how we all handled covid

I feel like they’re gonna abandon the whole outbreak setting and just start right in the middle of a decimated human populace, struggling to survive in an already overrun world/country.

I agree. It might be decimated, but they might not even be struggling that much by this point.

You wake up, then you eat your corpsestarch. Sadly, one of the demonic cults on world has infected your breakfast with bad joojoo. You go to work for 25 hours feeling ill the whole time, but you don't want to be executed for missing work and going under production quota. You try to relax with your purple skinned not quite mutant friend at the bar. He invites you to his hidden tyranid hang out, but you feel ill and go home instead. Saw the trailer last week. Looks like it could be good, the trailer was very good and the use of the Boots poem was incredibly well done. I just really hope this movie is gonna be good. So many things lately get my hopes up only to let me down immensely. If nothing else is ever good again, please allow 28 Years Later to be good. I want it to terrify me the same way 28 Days Later terrified me as a kid. I want to be scared to sleep at night without some sort of weapon laying next to me. I want me taking a shower to be the most vulnerable feeling ive ever had again. I want the feeling that I must have a weapon on me at all times again. Because while i was truly scared and terrified as a kid of zombie stuff, 28 Days Later was the scariest film of them all and now i know the best compliment i ever gave a film like that was actually being scared of it in real life and never having peace and always having something on me to make me feel like i had a fighting chance

From the screenshots we saw from the production, it seems the movie is still set in england, and repopulation efforts werent put in practice anymore, it seems england remains stuck in the early 2000s, witch indicates the isles being abandoned. And one character was with a NATO uniform witch might indicate NATO still exists and efforts of containement were somewhat successful

2:01 nice rendition of Auld lang syne I can imagine a few scenarios for the 28 days later franchise, like a shift from animal activists fighting scientists attempting to cure Rage into survivors fighting each other to look for a cure or wipe out the contagion entirely, possibly causing the very outbreak both hoped to avoid. Can’t wait to hear what you have to say on it;)

I have a theory for how there could still be infected decades later and it comes from a graphic novel series similar to 28 Days Later called The Crossed. Similar to the Rage Virus, The Crossed are humans infected with a virus that makes people turn into hyper-psychotic sadistic madmen who are practically feral. Most of the infected are barely sapient and have seemingly no regard for their own safety and most of them are killed off by each other, diseases, exposure to the elements or hunger since they just kill at random. However, as the more mindless infected die off, it is revealed some of them retain more of their past skills and know how to utilize weapons and vehicles and are also capable of survival in the long term. It's suggested that the infected in 28 Years Later are beginning to undergo some kind of evolution or change and that may mean they are becoming more intelligent and industrious, while still being driven by endless homicidal rage

My biggest issue with the new trailer: The rage virus was created to stop aggression in antisocial people. AKA prisoners. They mixed flu and ebola together, as well as a few others. The idea that this later evolved into a virus that extends the infecteds lifespan is dumb and reaching. They just wanted to make a zombie movie lol

I bet that once they saw how these infected were able to be tough, fast, unstoppable and relentless, they tried to reverse engineer the virus to make a super soldier type injection and it failed, turning a few research facilities into ground zero and having swarms of soldier sized infected just decimate whatever location they happened to base this movie in. And who other than the kid from the second movie trying to justify his mothers death, trying to make something good from bad, sets the whole damn thing off.

I would prefer the new film to be called 28 Months Later rather than 28 Years Later, but the problem is that they took too long.

A theory i always had with andy and what caused the helicopter crash at the end of 28 weeks later is the pilot offered them a drink and sis tammy is the big sister she gave it to andy first and after he took a sip, tammy took the next sip whiched caused her to turn and attack the pilot . Just my theory though
