If 4G can reach 16km, but 5G only 300m, I would think your pretty safe with the little low power 5G hotspots. 4G runs at 500+ watts, 5G base stations are on the order of 5-20 watts. I work on 30,000 Watt TV transmitters and work with lots of old people who have been doing it for 50 years, and they are all fine.

no actual difference... the current hike is early adopters fee, its like pre-ordering or buying something that's limited edition. once its mass produced/widespread, the price will normalize. that is if there's no monopoly like how in USA/Canada that the providers has complete control in certain regions/states/provinces. singapore is an ogliopoly... but if no one upgrades, the ROI for the new infrastructure will be slower. that affects shareholders payout. and since singapore is a small country, they can easily gauge how much people are willing to pay.

Good video. There are some portion that I thought was overhyping 5G. I do think that the pros really good for realtime systems like mentioned in the video especially the 0 latency Cons 5g : 1. 300m range 2. Signal was very bad if you go inside building. ( not strongly highlighted in video ) In my opinion these 2 cons alone outweights the pros. The video call example was really bad, consider this case, in order to get 5g signal to video call i need to go out my house and call? Or i need to be around 5g cell tower which ranged around 300m only? Not sure whether the signal will have issue during raining as well... why not ask how much is the cost to built the 5g infrastructure compare with 4g? And how many km were covered so far? How much was the price for the consumer? How about providing a better 3g and 4g price and services? All these hype but still there are no cheap unlimited internet, then does the telecom company expect consumers to spend more data so could spend more money as well? The korean said it is expensive, why not ask how expensive it is compare to 4g? 100x speed = 100x price as well? I believe that the price is what matters most to the consumer. So in the end I will still have this question even after watching the video "Why it matters?"

Yeah, the fact that yoi have to put those antennas in every single place is stupid. But there is the Sub 6 version of 5G which only goes to 200mbs but can be imtroduced buy just adding some devices to the already installed 4G antennas. This is way more stable and doesn't cost that much. But since Huawei invented it, some countries don't even know about it.

They didn't explain it too well, but it essentially has to do with latency. Self-driving cars, for example, need to be able to make decisions as soon as something changes in the road conditions (accident, pedestrian that runs out into the street, etc) With 4G, the latency is just too long for self-driving cars to get that information quick enough. You should probably do a search on the subject for a more thorough explanation.

My Wi-Fi is 800mbs for download and 200mbs for upload so I don't care that much of 5G. If the sim fee get's expensive, I don't want it. The sub6 5G is fine but the mmwave version may cause health problem so sorry but I'll see how the sout Koreans are doing.
