@profdave28612 ай бұрын
I too live in Ontario (eastern) and I encourage you to look seriously at Kubota. I’m a few years out of date with prices, but in 2019 I had every intention of buying a JD compact tractor around the same size as what you are looking at. But I realized the 2 series didn’t have some of the features I really wanted (eg. No true third function valve, although they would cobble up a diverter - not what I wanted). Plus the 2 series wasn’t available with a factory cab, which I was considering. So I looked at the 3 series with the features I wanted … and was shocked by the price. At that point, I hadn’t looked seriously at any other brand. A knew a few people that owned Kubotas and kept telling me to check them out - so I did, and I realized I should have done so right from the start. The bottom line is that Kubota offered more tractor, more options, and more standard features - at a better price - than John Deere. I’m not sure how the current price vs features compare, but do yourself a favour and check it out. I was blinded by “green” and I finally came to my senses. In addition to Kubota, if I were buying again now, I’d also take a good look at Kioti, but remember - one of the most important things when buying a tractor is not the manufacturer, but the DEALER. Take your time to get to know your local dealers… check out their parts and service departments… let them know you’re comparing brands. Make them work for you. You’ll be glad you did.

I appreciate your efforts to disclose everything and trust that you'll do a good job with that. I once bought a trencher from what I thought was a reputable auction company but after getting it shipped from several states away I found some issues. I ended up getting a substantial refund after fighting with them for weeks. It was enough to cover repairs and ended up a fair deal but shouldn't have happened in the first place. It's not like the buyer isn't going to eventually see the equipment in person so there should be no incentive to hide anything. Basic human decency should prevent that anyway.

Lots of.middle age and elderly people bought property outside of city's and need something to maintain it. Hard to hire some people then high costs to have someone tow then use the equipment price it out and buying a tractor at the higher price is still cheaper. It was 8100 to put in a driveway. I did it for 2000 plus the cost of the tractor. Then add in snow clearing digging trenchs clearing bush moving logs it paid for it self already and I'm only at 98 hours. All the work that needs to be done could be done with back breaking labor or a tractor. Re fixed 3 people's driveways moved tons of firewood.

It has, but at the same time I’m seeing a lot of sales. Right now a brand new 1025R ALB package with the loader and backhoe can be had for a little under $27,000, of course there are dealer fees and whatever on top of that but we also have to consider that our money is worth somewhere between 28 and 40% less than it was just three years ago. I think what we’re seeing is prices changing because of inflation and going up and the tractor market kind of doing with the car industry does from time to time with these changes where it kind of plays games with it. Right now I can get a $56,000 Chevy truck for $40,000, the sticker price is 56,000. If you go ask the dealer but if you look for the sales send time the rebates it’s not hard to get nine or $10,000 off from a motivated dealer but that’s just part of the game, if people are willing to pay more, they’re happy to take your money but that’s why it’s important to learn how to buy things. I’ve always paid about 15-20% less for vehicles than most people do but that’s because I used to work with a Rent-A-Car company and do fleet buying and learned our system works and tractors are very much the same. If you walk into your John Deere Dealer and say OK give me that tractor loader backhoe combination 1025R they’re gonna go ahead and ring you up 30+ thousand dollars but you take your time and look around and find the dealers who are motivated. You can find them for three or 4000 less and when you calculate inflation it’s really not that horrible. No, I’m talking about the compact tractor market because that’s pretty much all I look at and when you look at TYM and coyote and even companies like bad boy which are actually American for the most part, there’s competition out there, so a lot of the dealers are having to Offer better prices to move tractors. There was a time when it was a huge risk to buy something like a coyote or a TM but if you have a dealer close to you, and especially if you can work on your own machines, you’re gonna be buying your parts through the mail anyway and the quality difference is not that huge. If I were buying something new today in my range would be a 25 to 50 hp compact, of course I’m going to consider John Deere but I’m also going to be looking at TYM and coyote, and even RK, which is made by TYM, Rural King has been pretty consistent on these for a while now. These other brands just aren’t as scary to people anymore because they’ve been around they’re established and they’re a lot of people using them and more shops, servicing them, and inflation happened and there’s not much we can do about it. A $21,000 tractor is now just going to cost $27,000, it’s not great but that’s what inflation does to the market. Our money is just not worth what it used to be which means we have to pay more for stuff now. Just hope they don’t start lowering the quality drastically to deal with the inflation. :/ It’s cool you guys are putting an effort forward to help people out. That’s awesome. :)
