I hope we all know that it doesn't matter who is in the 'top job' because this is a systemic problem -- greed. We have allowed many of our economic sectors, to take advantage of the American people. It's disgusting and frightening for the future of our country. My husband and I will be retiring in the next two years n another country. We are absolutely worried that SS! will no longer be funded. we'll have to rely on his pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific Investment account with Stephanie Janis Stiefel my FA. Why do they keep saying lower tax rates equal more revenue? That's misleading - there's cripplingly high taxes, but there's also a floor at which further tax cuts stimulate the economy at a diminishing rate. We are already beneath that floor. Besides, we don't need more wealth nearly so much as we need redistribution. The top 1% already takes like half of everything while the bottom 20% are actually worth less than nothing, as they are thousands in debt. The lower middle class is worth .2 or .3% of the total pie. That's 40% of the people with basically nothing. The top 20% controls 90+% of all America's wealth. Point is, at this point, growing the economy just further lines the pockets of the people who need it the least. No one working for a living should be fooled by the promise of "economic growth" because they won't see any benefit.
