Popping his claws in and out for no reason was established back in the late 80's. He does it to keep the channels open between his forearms and hands...like a pierced ear. but he still bleeds when it's done. the Silver gizmos on his old gloves helped with that.
@BlerdWithoutFear6 жыл бұрын
Ah, I never caught that comic, I guess. I knew he felt pain whenever he popped his claws and the slots on his gloves helped, but doing it to keep the channels open is a new one on me.
@jamesbaggett72236 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can't recall the issue....but it was tied as a follow-up to Marvel Comics Presents: Weapon X (the one with art and story by Barry Windsor Smith) in the late 80's run of the Wolverine solo comics. I sorta miss the Wolverine art style in those books. He was heftier for his size...more like a fire hydrant of a man with slabs of muscle and a slight hunched posture. Now he's slimmer...more a pretty boy. Probably to reflect Jackman's portrayal of the character.
@Soldier4USA20056 жыл бұрын
I remember that comic and if I remember correctly, it was right after Magneto screwed with his skeleton...causing him to temporarily lose both it and his healing factor because his body spent ALL of it's time fixing what Magneto broke. And the reason why I remember it that way was because he was under a try talking to someone and his hands were wrapped up, as if he wasn't healing. I specifically remember 3-4 frames of his hand trying to heal, but it kept failing. Jean is the one who used her powers to keep Logan from straight up falling apart on the flight back to the school. It was a pretty horrendous few issues, as in being extremely messed up regarding Logan and his PTSD from the incident. He even had nightmares of being weak and "boneless" because his adamantium was now gone. Something he had used to deal with certain problems while on a mission.
@USMCasper6 жыл бұрын
Those things on the suit weren't to keep the channel open. Originally his claws weren't apart of his skeletal system and were retconned in I believe 93. They originally were inside his suit.
@BlerdWithoutFear6 жыл бұрын
That was the original way of things, his claws being apart of the gloves, back when he was just a hulk villain. I think they changed it whenever Chris Claremont came on board for X-Men. Gotta love those retcons!

This is how comic IP creators can get back their IP legally. The best story I have ever read about it was one with Erik Larsen and Savage Dragon (iirc) or maybe it was Howard the Duck, anyway, it was a clever use of cloning, etc that legally you can work right around the movie rights, etc.

In some of the comics he can actually regenerate adamantium laced bones. His healing factor turned it into a different kind of metal. And he's always bleeding in the comics. bossdog bossdog they got big shoes to fill jackman did a lot with the wolverine you can see the evolution in the character from X-men trilogy and the stand alone trilogy high expectations I’d say jackman would have to be on set to help the young guy out on how to aprouch and give ideas
@bossdogbossdog65586 жыл бұрын
I dont know man,wolverine has been around a long time. His character could easily be written as being so different at young age that the way he acts couldve been totally different. Maybe consulting with jackman some would be helpful but i dont think its necessary. I think jackman did all he could with what he was given. But popular as he was i wouldve liked to have seen someone more closely resembling the short feral man with a berserker rage that i knew to be wolverine. jackman was kind of the "diet wolverine" in my opinion. A little bland and lacked substance. With the exception of Logan,and its sad they had to wait til his last movie to get him closer to right.

That does sound awesome. I read as a kid. The original wolverine and the X-Men of that time, weapon x, etc... Stopped reading eventually. last wolverine i bought, he was recovered from his admantium being ripped out, fighting cyborgs and vampires in the Canadian wastelands. Idk the story since, first time back is this vid. There was an offshoot graphic novel story with him and havoc, forgot the details but he was a murderous angry ninja like man, killing wholesale. Sound familiar let me know would love to read it again. I literally stopped buying comics when wolverine and the punisher were getting tag teamed in a special series. Wolverine was full of admantium, and in his brown suit from years ago. I realised that I have no faith in the continuity or quality of this universe anymore, so i said fuck it. Used to read xmen wolverine amazing spider man and silver surfer on the regular. Those were my jams.

I think the term SJW is just a thing people like to venomously throw around whenever a character (female or any color other than white) gets a chance to shine, and they don't like it because despite their ability to relate to Ponies and anime characters, Heaven forbid they be "forced" to have to relate to someone that is the opposite gender or another "real life" ethnicity...

Blerd Without Fear I have nothing against a strong female character or a non white character. I just think they should be more original than the x-23 character. Cloning and time travel is for Star Trek and other franchises that can’t keep their stories in line. More like hibernation. His healing factor would have kicked in to deal with the trauma of being incased in adamantium. His system would have compensated for the lack of oxygen.

That was kind of the problem. He had no healing factor by that point. He'd been without for a minute.
@NolanSanchez6 жыл бұрын
I remember the storyline, but I'm wondering if his system had just slowed down to the point where it wouldn't allow for rapid healing, especially with multiple traumas? I'm wondering how the writers are going to explain his survial? My thoughts are that with the massive shock to his system that his healing factor shut down other vitals systems, and put him into a form of a healing coma
@BenignosYK6 жыл бұрын
It's a healing factor, not immortality. Let's say it had just gone dormant and kicked in again at the very last moment. He would still need oxygen in order for his body to function. It's the same reason why one of the weaknesses that Logan himself has mentioned about himself is water and how all that metal in his body makes it difficult for him to keep his head above water and not drown.
@NolanSanchez6 жыл бұрын
No, but he extremely longed live. According to Marvel, he's around 210 years and still in the physical prime of his life. Like the Hulk, his healing factor allows him to adapt to certain 'extreme' conditions
@BenignosYK6 жыл бұрын
Sure, like as Weapon X in Age of Apocalypse, the flesh on one of his arms grew back after being completely burned up. But oxygen deprivation is not the kind of thing that heals. Furthermore, Hulk's healing ability is much more effective than that of Wolverine, even coming back from being almost completely consumed by a swarm of post apocalyptic insects on a daily basis.
@briguy6774 жыл бұрын
This is what has pissed me off about Marvel in the last ten to fifteen years, the writers and editors have ignored Wolverine's connection to Alpha Flight. The X-men show up in Canada to entomb/bury Logan but say nothing to his original team? Supervillains show up to steal his corpse but Alpha Flight isn't aware? Reed Richards, who has really no connection to Wolverine laments not being able to help him rather than James Hudson? C'mon! Logan once considered Mac and Heather Hudson to be as parents to him, he had romantic interests in Snowbird and Aurora at one time, he hung out a lot with Puck but none of them are involved with his funeral or subsequent search? Instead, Kitty gets Tony Stark and Daredevil to help find him? Two more heroes with little to no connection with Wolverine but because the company is pushing certain characters instead of the story... Marvel has gone from the House of Ideas to the House of Retreads. They use the same few characters over and over in stories they don't really fit in. It's one of the reasons I stopped buying Marvel comics ten years ago.

@BlerdWithoutFear6 жыл бұрын
Can you blame them though? Marvel kind of had to put the X-Men in the background because of the nature of their licensing deal. Any new comic IP's Marvel made under X-Men, Fox had rights to. They were basically giving away movie rights by the truck load. Same thing goes for the FF. It would be like leaving your ex but still having babies with her... If I remember correctly, logan was once reduced to a molecule and lived. Some crazy thing where he also became god for a minute too, but the coming back from a speck of matter was attributed to him, not the situation. No way encasing him kills him. He may need a century to recover on his own, but thats what this mutant does, he gets better no matter what. His freaking ashes would probably regenerate.

Well, I called Kitty phasing Logan out of that metal casing right when I 1st saw it happen (Magneto & Polaris's magnetism were close 2nds along w/ Elixir). Now that the MCU's getting the X-movie rights back they seem to be writting better X-stories. I can't wait until the X-men are introduced into the MCU & they are finally done justice.
@BlerdWithoutFear6 жыл бұрын
Marvel took X-Men and Fantastic Four off the black list almost as soon as I they finalized the deal. Ifs gonna be a while before they do anything movie-wise with those characters, but I'm glad they're not rushing them into the MCU like people were initially hoping
@BlackSuperman20996 жыл бұрын
+Blerd Without Fear Of course, they'd be stupid not to, because both properties are among their most popular & profitable properties (the FF basically started Marvel & the X-men pretty much held Marvel down through the 90s--where no other title was particularly popular, save for maybe Spidey). Well, everything's not finalized, just yet, so they can't just rush these new acquistions into the MCU. They have to get as much as they can w/ their current characters, before introducing new ones (plus they need time for the current storylines to play out before writing new ones to tie in new characters). I see them killing off most of the MCU during Infinity War & introducing a new MCU around 2020 (w/ the X-men, FF, & probably different actors to replace some of their old cast). I'm thinking they'll recycle another plot from the X-men & do "Heroes Reborn" (like what they did w/ the whole Onslaught storyline & shunted the "human heroes" to an alt dimension to make room for the X-men).
@BlerdWithoutFear6 жыл бұрын
We probably won't see anything with them for like... years. Probably not until Phase 5... maaaaaaaybe the tail end of Phase 4. Like a tease or something. And probably not even a debut in their own movie. They'll probably make an appearance in someone else's movie first. Like the FF debuting in a Black Panther movie to repay his debut in their comics. Or X-Men popping up in an Avengers film or a Spider-Man film. Now that Marvel doesn't have to worry about feeding Fox new IP's every time they make a new FF or X-Men story, the sky is the limit.

In the movie Logan wolverines healing factor has been tapped out to its full potential. The adamantium's crystal structures absorb all kinds of energy from heat from cutting other materials with his claws to the earths resonance field to energy attacks from other mutants without any way for that energy to be released like Wonder womans guantlets absorb energy and then release it when she strikes them together. Wolverines body has been super charged the metal acting like radioactive materials that have a super high resonance that has tapped out logans healing factor. Logan just needs a release of all that built up energy or maybe be outfitted with arm blasters that channels built up energy from his metal covered bones and generate destructive high energy beams? Be a neat way to bring back Logan and make him even more of a deadly weapon. 😊
@BlerdWithoutFear6 жыл бұрын
If if he could do that he'd be pretty much his Marvel vs. Capcom self. He'd be so OP it wouldn't even be funny. I could dig it if he could do a little projectile move like that. Doing like Wonder Woman isn't a bad idea. He'd be able to have some reach without making it too off the wall. I'd pay money to see it happen!

I think this is like an excuse to bring a younger actor to play Wolverine in the future MCU. They must be trying to do a Superhero shake up for Logan. After all, MCU have majority of the time derived inspiration from comics.
