That’s very interesting. Where in Leviticus should we look for the information?
@luludee1300
@luludee1300 4 ай бұрын
@Forestgateaux So in the translation I was just looking at, it actually says mildew. I don't know if the original Hebrew distinguishes between mildew and mold or kind of considers them of the same ilk. The beginning of Leviticus 13 starts off about skin diseases, and then in verse 47, it talks about contaminated clothing. In the next chapter, 14 verse 33 it talks about contaminated houses. It does talk about them being ceremonially unclean, which I think may be a different standard of cleanliness in the sense that it would pertain to ceremonial law vs civil or moral. But I don't know that for certain. I think there are things in Old Testament law that might seem random to us - like mildew on your clothing or in your house making those things unclean - but God has His reasons for everything He does and commands, so I think it's very interesting that mildew is a contaminate in the OT, and we know today how dangerous it can be. Tammy used the word evil to describe mold, which I find interesting. I've long thought viruses to be evil. Bacteria have a function and are an integral part of a biome, but can become dangerous when not kept in check. Viruses, on the other hand, seem to exist only to steal (on a molecular level from healthy functioning cells) kill and destroy. The very description of the thief in John 10:10. Just some thoughts/observations I find interesting 🙂

@@Beautifulbeyond-b4j I agree with you on focusing on Jesus -- not the Catholic church. My dad has been Catholic up until this year (even went to Catholic school) and my two cousins raised by Catholic parents and stopped following that slowly from their teens into their 20's. All three of them have turned from Catholicism due to their practices and are now just simply followers of Christ. It's made a huge difference in their lives!

“I loved God but I didn’t fear Him”. I totally relate to this. I think a lot of Americans do since we’re not as disciplined as children. We think any punishment is the opposite of love.
@s1ckch1ck
@s1ckch1ck 4 ай бұрын
I think that's partly bc sometimes in better cases kids only see the anger in the punishment and parents don't explain the intention. It's also important to show love after punishment which should not be done in anger. Worse cases are punishments done out of disproportionate anger that is unrelated to child which are the cause of later unhealthy relationship attachments

Regarding animals as children, we should proceed with mercy for those who cannot have children, so animals are their children. It is said in the Bible in 2 Samuel 12:3: “but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.”

Awesome job ladies on answering the question Tammy asked about atonement! There is nothing we can do for ourselves to work for atonement. The word atone in Hebrew means cover and there is no way we can cover our sins only Jesus can cover all of our sins. He took all of our sin and sickness and transgression upon him on the cross and he finished the work. Now all we need to do is to live in the freedom of Jesus. We all no longer a slave to sin but a slave of Christ. Glory be to God!!

The Catholic church is a false religion that changed the gospel and leads people to hell. Read the Bible for yourself (not a Catholic one) and you'll see how the Church contradicts what Scripture says. Most of the Catholic practices are rooted in pagan worship of the sun god and the Queen of Heaven.

@rhayman4709
@rhayman4709 5 ай бұрын
@@vito_reacts Hey. Religiosity wasn't my intention, honestly. It was love of God. Because coming before the Eucharist in adoration literally saved my life, brought me back to Christ and turned my life around. The Eucharist is *actually* Jesus. Not symbolism, not a representation - it is Jesus in the flesh. True food and true drink. I agree Jesus is available to everyone. That is beautiful, and Jesus is beautiful. What I meant was, I find it interesting (although unsupising, as someone who's life was saved by Jesus in the Eucharist) that both these girls reverted and repented after coming before Jesus in the tabernacle in moments of total vulnerability, and that He met them there again, and they are not even aware that they were in front of Him physically. That's what I meant. I hope everyone gets to experience the beauty of the Eucharist that Jesus gave us. The greatest and most wonderful mystery in the world. His actual body. What a gift!

I love this conversation, ladies, you are describing being transformed by the renewing of your mind. I went through my own process of renewing my mind, replacing lies with truth of the Bible. God bless as you continue to grow. Romans 12:2

I agree wholeheartedly that God can heal anyone and any illness. However, please use nuance. Not every illness is caused by sin or evil spirits (see passages like John 9:1-12). Sometimes God does not take away mental or physical illness when we ask. Sometimes he instead teaches us and shapes us through the trials. Sometimes faithful Christians are still sick. And he is glorified when we keep praising in the pain. Glorified when we share the hope we have even in- or especially in - the struggle.

Very true. Paul is one example in Scripture of when God chose not to heal (2 Cor. 12:7-9)

I really think it can though. Through our sin and our vices, gluttony, alcoholism etc, and putting all of those things above our love for the Lord as idols, that can cause physical and mental disease. (Dementia, mental illnesses, etc.

@@sbrown8937 I never said that sin can't be a cause of illness. I said it isn't ALWAYS. James 5:15 says, "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." One of the key words in that is "if." That means the sick person may have sinned or maybe they didn't.

So true. I have lived with severe chronic pain for 21 years now. One thing that has happened is that thru my pain and suffering, I have become closer to Jesus. I was a true sinner before and those actions have lead to my medical condition…ectopic pregnancy out of wedlock. I have prayed everyday for Jesus to bring me Home. Instead, He has taught me to live in gratitude, even thru the pain. Now I walk next to Him all the way. God bless you, my sister in Christ! 🙏🏽❤️

Thank you for this Tammy, my fiancée and I are going through such a difficult time, I’ve encountered Jesus Christ he hasn’t, I’m constantly trying to show him but he’s such a fan of Jordan Peterson and his views which has sipped into our relationship. I consistently pray for Jordan Peterson to accept Christ but not only for him but everyone he has touched.

When I was an athiest, I married a non-Christian and had a child with special needs. Then I became Christian and she is not. I now carry my cross, each and every day. Now I'm different because I fall under 1 Cor 7:12-16, but there's a reason why the Bible teaches that we shouldn't be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Christians should NOT marry non-Christians). I pray you obey God's instruction through Paul.

I am currently admitted in the hospital in Alberta for weeks, diagnosed with a rare condition I've had for years. Everything that can go wrong, is going wrong. My body is shutting down and I am starving and suffering, without a way forward. I am not receiving adequate care, and we do not have the means to transfer me. I am a young mother of 2 children. I have prayed. I have prayed and prayed, and I have been met with silence, followed by more unexpected complications. I feel abandoned in my desperate quest for acceptance and healing. The pain and symptoms are unbearable. I don't want to die. I want to live. But it seems, living, no matter how much you long for it, is not always granted. I am terrified. The fear is deafening. I have asked god to take over. What more can one do.

Hello. Sorry to hear about all the suffering you are going through. Will put you in prayers for sure. But the one thing that came to mind as I read your post was that you ought to give God a sacrifice. A sacrifice of praise and thanks given. It sound like and oxymoron but trust me you will see miracles. Your pain is my pain since we all belong to the body Of Christ.
