What if we could reinvent leadership to be more like nature? What if our human systems - our schools, businesses, cities and communities - were designed and developed using the principles of life instead?
Andres Roberts believes a better world and a new kind of leadership is possible. His TEDx talk takes us on a journey into human stories that go beyond relentless growth, competition and consumption, to show how we can work with nature to grow things like resilience, connection, wisdom and care. Rather than battling with the old operating systems, he argues that making nature our guide might be the most important innovation of our times.
Andres left the world of big organisations early on in his career. He set up an agency for playfulness in his mid-twenties, before setting out to work with nature.
He is the co-founder of Way of Nature UK, where he guides journeys to help people reconnect with the things that really matter in life. He is also the founding partner of the Bio-Leadership Project - an initiative that is helping to grow new forms of leadership and human innovation by doing it with nature.

Dan O'Connell Andres Roberts believes a better world is possible if we could only find a way to work with nature.
He believes that we have to, for the sake of all of life.
Andres left the world of big organisations early on in his career. He set up an agency for playfulness in his mid twenties, before setting out to work with nature.
Today he supports a range of people and organisations, from Patagonia to pioneering leadership schools like THNK and the Amani Institute, and alliances such as the World Benchmarking Alliance.
He is the co-founder of Way of Nature UK, where he guides journeys to help people reconnect with the things that really matter in life. He is also the founding partner of the Bio-Leadership Project - an initiative that is helping to grow new forms of leadership and human innovation by doing it with nature.
Behind his work, Andres is interested in how to lead more whole lives and how to nurture a more whole world. These matters have taken him on a journey through learning, leadership and sustainability - and then deep into the wilderness, where he once sat alone on a mountain for 28 days, and to study with wise and wonderful teachers and elders from around the world.
Today, he respectfully brings some of these lessons back to modern life. Andres is starting to learn that we need more kindness. He is also learning how to be a Dad, a better friend, and a how to stay an adventurer.
He thinks we can make that better world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is exactly what the world needs - a reworking of old, tired systems and structures to create a new, healthier, happier and more 'nature connected' society. Bio Leadership is the way to go if we want to respond to the climate crisis in a way that secures the future of our societies and our planet - bravo! 😄

Competition in nature is balanced. It is about survival *only.* We humans have outstripped the competition so far that we are now a destructive force *against* nature. We are so far out of balance that our struggle is now with ourselves: *to reduce our competitive nature to bring ourselves back into balance with the world.* If we allow our greed and laziness to destroy our only home, we destroy ourselves along with it. The fight for survival now has turned into us needing to be *less competitive.*

A true awakening! We think the industrial revolution (The fast-paced exploitation of natural resources) was a good thing but it was/is contrary to how nature works. At the very least, we need to support corporate entities who make conservation and preservation a priority and urge public institutions to make policy decisions to protect the planet. And, in the meantime, teach children to cherish nature.

I love the idea of measuring success differently. Instead of the standard GDP, and continual growth, a more holistic assessment of societal and environmental well-being would change the way we see and think about everything in our lives - from each other, to our work and the way we live. I believe we'd see more care and cooperation. Hopefully this is an idea whose time has come.

Actually is not a choice it is necessity, but we don't feel that yet. It's not about new and old system it is about life, and is not about planet it is about us. We don't have to save the planet but our mere life.

I loved this! Thank you Andres! Spend more time in deep remote nature, this is what's working for me... ...with telework there are no more excuses!.. living in remote places in nature allows me to remain connected and 'coming back to myself' in mind and spirit and to nature and, especially, to the people who are working to turn the ship around.... or redesigning our systems like you mention. viva Guayaki!!! Cheers from @CentroUmepay, Cordoba, Argentina (here we are living the change and dream🥰) un abrazo, Andres!

The only way change is going to happen is if we stop becoming a disposal society. Do we really need a TV in every room? Or a new mobile phone every two years. Or a new car every 4 years. Let's start building things to last for a long time. The downside to this is MIlLIONS of jobs lost.

Nature won't change leadership, leadership change nature. Also if you ( correcting) know science specially physics, there is not any climate change that is extraordinary, the changes are the same as those that have ever been.
@Redskirt

The changes may be the same, but it's the speed at which they're happening that is different.

@@Redskirt Could you proof it, I know physics I have read many scholar papers none have a proof. Most of what I have read lacks all kind of statistical value satellites can't prove it as the weather and temperature through out the earth is variable, the earth move at the same rate, the soltices happen every year the spring and winter same they same day same two months, the sun warms the planet at the same rate during all four seasons would you explain where the extra heat comes from?
@HERBALNATUMAN1
@HERBALNATUMAN1 4 жыл бұрын
@@Redskirt Also if you read old scientific data, you will find that there have been worst climate phenomena in the earth history, one special proof is in the Bible itself. Don't let globalist erode your brain the fact they are promoting this hoax most people know the reason, I know thanks Jesus, Hy being born and raised Communism.😊
@Redskirt
@Redskirt 4 жыл бұрын
@@HERBALNATUMAN1 If I understand your question, the extra heat comes from the greenhouse effect, which is caused by the pollutants in the atmosphere. But you must know that if you've studied, so I'm not sure what you're really asking. No, I don't have proof that big climate changes have never occurred within a span of 30 years sometime in the last 4.5 billion. But let me ask you this, is it smarter to deny man-made climate change and not have any chance of stopping it, or smarter to change our ways and try to save ourselves and the planet just in case?
@Redskirt
@Redskirt 4 жыл бұрын
@@HERBALNATUMAN1 The people in power, the oligarchs, are the ones who have been denying climate change is even happening. The oil industry's own scientists warned of it decades ago, and those reports were suppressed. I love the Lord, but the Bible is more poetry than science, and you must know that since the world is far older than 10,000 years.
