I take any project I can get hahaa! but I get where you are coming from :) I don't know too much about Germany but try finding local theatre or if your version of college has film majors where they do short films? That way you can start to get practice!

I just want to add to this video. The majority of the people that are in a Netflix series (Stranger things, Riverdale,etc.) that have talked about the audition process either didn't know at all what they were auditioning for, were already pretty big in the industry or were found by the casting director through musicals and things like that. So just keep doing jobs to add to your resume :)

Just a tip from an LA actor: don’t send tapes into casting if you are not absolutely ready. Casting doesn’t forget. If they don’t like what you’re doing, it’s much harder to get back in once you are ready. Make sure that when it’s your shot, you’re prepared. Be in class, have an agent/manager, actually be in LA. The stories you hear of people “moving here to be on ___” are rare and fragmented. If you want to actually be a real actor, give it the necessary time it requires.

Lonna start with commercials! Get a commercial agent, take class, do improv class, make projects, say yes to your friends projects, build a reel. Submit to agencies when you’re ready bc again if you see casting before you’re ready, they might not want you again

I’m a 13 year old and I’ve always dreamed of acting and making a character my own. I’ve only ever thought of being an actor or a performer really..I’ve always been scared to audition or ask my father to audition for anything. I feel like I’d get rejected and humiliate myself. and yes, i know you will get turned down, but i feel like i’ll never make an audition ever.. Also Agent’s for my family are kind of expensive, and I don’t think I have the best actin qualities to even get an agent. I’m just in a weird situation, and I don’t think I’ll become a child actor nor an adult one. Even if I did send in a self-tape and I made it, how would I get to the location and stuff..I seriously am inexperienced other than how to GET the role. Like what happens if I get it?! Idrk an answer to your other questions, but agents shouldn’t cost ANY money whatsoever. The agent makes money when you book gigs. So if the agency asks for money upfront, they are not legit

I feel you I tell my parents they think it’s a joke and never take me seriously. See a lot of people want to act to be with celebrities and famous people but I want to act to express my feelings and express it in different ways and characters by acting. But I have to many wrong with me my parents not supporting me, me being extremely shy around people, awkwardness , and not much confidence in myself. My point is why should out parents decide our futures them make fun of us for believing that our dream is to big to get a part or and audition. I don’t get why we can’t just try our hardest and see where life’s takes us or what it wants for us. Instead of our parents deciding oh you can’t be an actor because your not good enough or don’t have enough talent, we should know what we want and what we are working hard for. I don’t want to be a child actor or it will be cool but I’m going to work hard until I actually can control what I do. But until now I’m supposably a teacher for my future. Just I don’t get why some of our parents aren’t supportive enough and they expect us to be successful. Anyways good luck and hope you accomplish your dream🥰

Hey, i don't have much acting experience but I know a little so if you have to pay for a agent its not legit, never pay up front, when you get a agent and they book a job for you if you get that role when your done with it the agent gets 10-15-20% of the money. And you will get turned down and sometimes not but you have to be ok and ready for that, its not all sunshine and rainbows. And don't be afraid to ask your parents, i don't know your situation but u got to take risks at times. I hope this helped, have a wonderful day.

i've wanted to act since i was like six and i'm fourteen now. i've taken a bunch of classes and done camps, but my parents aren't that supportive of my acting. i've watched so many youtube videos about how to get an agent or get started, but i can't find any agencies for kids around me. i live like thirty minutes away from dc, so i've been looking for places there. i love acting, but i feel like i'm never actually going to get to be an actress. i like know i can perform the scene well, but i'm always so nervous i'm going to mess up that i forget my lines no matter how many times i practice and mess up. i've tried to be in my school productions, but they're all musicals and i love singing, but i cannot sing and am so insecure about it. i've literally ran away from all of my auditions. ugh. i just don't know what to do.

This comment upset me. My family aren’t the most supportive and so if you want to still be an actress you HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING. If you really want to be one you need to go behind your parents back and pay for singing, dancing and theatre companies intution if you want to do stage. If you want to do film or tv you need to go to workshops for film acting which can be a 100 pound a term and need to be going for at least a year to get good enough and for confidence. You then need to get an agent and ask to work in their office for a week for free and send every agent around your area a self tape to their Facebook or even go to their office and keep calling them.

usually the character description is what they are looking for so hair is not as big of a deal because you can change that but you cant change your race. hope this helped!

Hi! I do agree that there is not as much minority representation as there should be in the entertainment industry, but I do think that it is slowly changing which is great! If anything I think that this should encourage you to do it more because you can contribute to that change :) I have seen a lot more casting calls nowadays that feature all ethnicities so don't let it discourage you!

i think over here in new york it’s the issue with the pandemic. i’ve attempted to contact agencies but they’re mainly closed. there is a specific show i’m looking to audition for (avatar the last airbender lol). i have a lot of connections to mainly broadway theatre actors but not necessarily in film. the closest i have to that is my brother, who has been helping me graciously with the process. i have a few questions: 1) considering open cast calls don’t require an agency, does it higher up your chances of getting hired if you do have an agency to represent? 2) could you hire a talent agent after obtaining a role? 3) my main experience is theatrical, but i want to go into film. for an acting reel can i use my theatre acting as an example?

hi! i'm late, i just wanted to share that i wanted to become an actress at a young age. I'm 13 years old and turning 14 next year on march and millie bobby brown inspired me to become an actress like her. After seeing her on stranger things, godzilla, i was really amazed by her performance and how successful she became and even had her on makeup product. sooo....she has been acting on stranger things for 3 years now and she is starring on enola holmes and i can't wait for it. but...the problem is...i'm far from america. i live in asia and i want to be a successful actress one day and be an inspiration to other people just like millie. i'm a big fan of millie and stranger things and....millie showed me that at a young age, you can make your dreams come true. that's all :)
