When I practice dialogue,by default I try to copy the original tone of the dialogue and also sometimes my throat just stuck I while uttering a dialogue. It is just kind of a speedbreaker on a smooth road. Help me, give tips to improve accent and also how to practice alone. Thanks Man.

One of the reasons why actors talk too loud is due to their theatre training. In my acting school there's always someone in my class being told that they're way too silent (although talking on a normal volume) by two of our teachers. Another reason could be just them being nervous on the audition I guess.

I'm a young actor, I am just about to go to uni to develop my acting skills. I recommend continuing to watch videos like this to develop your knowledge, take acting lessons and workshops, watch live performances and movies and just to put yourself out there and keep at it. The more experience you gain, the more you'll learn and develop. This may sound harsh but evaluate yourself, do you actually want to do this 110% and are you dedicated enough? This is becuase it's not an easy industry and if you aren't dedicated fully, then what? There's no point.

@ellalusk70364 жыл бұрын
Jos when you do tell them, i would suggest subtly bringing it up at first. like talk about how you are really interested in acting and how cool you think it is. however, if they don’t support you, it doesn’t matter. you are your own person with your own mind and you are capable of doing anything you want. at the end of the day, your parents approval doesn’t define who you will be in the future.
@ellalusk70364 жыл бұрын
Jos but if you are trying to get into acting right now, i think you should tell your parents that you are really good at it and it’s your passion. if you are that passionate about it i’m sure they will support yoy

Hey! I’m a 15 year old girl from Belgium and I started doing auditions about a year ago... I brought it up like really subtle in the beginning. I have been taking drama classes since the age of seven so my parents of course knew that it was something that I loved to do. I’m not able to promise you that they will fully support you from the beginning. My dad didn’t really like the idea of doing auditions and wanted me to focus on school and my mom helped me with them because she knew i loved to act but I never really thought that she took it as serious as I did. Now after a year it changed because I’m receiving a lot of feedback from the directors and I’m always making it far through the auditioning rounds (getting the part is an other story) so that helped my parents with supporting me. If they know that you love to act they will support you!

Any advice for someone from Australia in regards to booking bigger roles like netflix and the sort, is it essential to move out to LA for example or is it possible without doing that?
@TheActorsAcademy4 жыл бұрын
Hey, that’s great! I’m glad I’ve been able to help 👍🏼 In terms of your question, yes. It’s possible to make it on Netflix without having to live in the US. Because of video submissions, you don’t have to live in a specific place to get certain auditions anymore. Of course there will be some casting directors who are very traditional with only doing local onsite auditions, but there are many projects that are now able to be submitted through video (do note that Netflix also does cast specifically in Australia as well). Also, being in the Australian film industry that you are in, isn’t bad either. The competition in Australia is much lower than the US which means your potential for booking is higher. Building your resume with real projects (not so much student films) can add a lot of benefits into your career with both casting and agents. Hope this helps 👍🏼

I just have a doubt if a character is very energetic and he needs a certain high tone or he is over enthusiastic kind of a person in that character what should be the tone like?
@Dabro8384 жыл бұрын
Suyash Rajpurohit well I am exactly that in real life so I would say they might do a lot of exercise and when they are running to you they are talking to fast and over enthusiastic in his voice would be in a fast pace that’s what I would do

Or when I become a actor I could take that actor :)

Hey I got some questions. I really want to be an actor but I feel like I won’t get many roles because of my race and the industry is racist! That’s what I heard so I am a Indian but I have been living in Canada for 12 years can speak/write fluently I have been taking drama in my school since gr.10 and I’m in gr.11 and I have 1 more year for drama so please respond and help me!

The industry racism is dying out(at least they make it look like it) so go for it. Maybe you'll get some parts. Don't cry because of a supposed racism, try and fail a million times 'till you achieve what you want. Don't go for the top roles, don't expect to be world famous in moments. You'll need to fight.

I'am also an indian...wanna be an actor

Go for it and don't give up, it's your goal! You can't just throw that into the dirt because of stupid racism, fight until you get a role! And to not loose motivation i would suggest imagining what you want your future self to be from time to time

I have a lot of insecurities with my monotone voice. I feel like I act better when I try to act with an accent as weird as it is lol. Can you give me advice on this? I’m from California. It’s not total valley girl style but just monotone. Do you think this will be a problem for me and should I maybe take a voice class?

I recently realized I've been "acting" all my life, whether as joking or side projects with friends... and I've never really had an issue with these? I think it might be because I took vocal lessons as a tiny child

Problem is, when acting on a stage, you are REQUIRED to talk loud, aka PROJECT. I can understand performing for a camera where you can speak quietly and it picks up everything. But on a stage, you want even the people in the back of the theater to hear that “I love you.” line.

I think acting is about being as natural as possible in being somebody else. You basically have to *be* somebody else, not *act* like somebody else. The difficulty lies in basically transforming yourself into the character. Am I right?
