I’d never heard Danielle before this video, but I really loved her energy, her upbeat nature, her delivery, and her message. Thanks for featuring her!

Whenever I get distracted in prayer, I offer an intention for someone, or better yet, I pray about the things that are distracting me!! Usually the things that distract me are things that are on my mind , so by praying about them I can talk to God about it. Hope this helps!!

I pardon myself for my distractions, ask forgiveness for my misstep and pray that I be washed clean that I may focus only on the Father.

Danielle said such an important thing when she said "It isn't about your feelings". This is about God, about being present to God and this is in contrast to New Age beliefs creeping into some Christian circles where the emphasis is all about the experience.

The three hail Mary novena and the Saint Michael the archangel prayer are great prayers. I am uncomfortable in silence. I think it is amazing this woman has eight children.

I’ve never before this heard “everyday mystic” just as something normal. I’m very much intrigued by the idea that saints were normal people and that it is still the times of miracles

Even in my days of terrible distractions I do try to keep in mind that satan loves discouragement. Even if I'm unable to contemplate I press on. Prayer is our "job" and there is much work to do! Fr. Corapi said if you don't feel like praying TOUGH! Do it anyway

One idea which came to mind while watching this video: Don’t know where to start? Tell God that you don’t know where to start. Constantly distracted? Tell God that you’re constantly distracted. The Scriptures even says that we don’t know how to pray as we aught.

Lives of Saints are wonderful. In drawing us closer to himself, God is the protagonist. You quotation can fully be understood by those who are close to God. I’m publishing a weekly KZbin video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you.

Prayer takes a tremendous amount of energy. Many times i'm too tired to pray. For me prayer does not fuel itself. Is it supposed too? After prayer do people feel energized, serene, tired? I really don't hear anything coming back. Its one way... just going out. I know God is there but i never get any response.

I also find that prayer takes a lot of energy. I often have to force myself to pray, and I have never had in my feedback come during my time of prayer. It usually comes through other avenues.

God is a teacher. He does not need you to show up to class. You need to show up to class

So do regular “Hey Father, I have a question” or having running dialogs count? I find it exceptionally difficult (ADHD riddled) to maintain a regular schedule of “formal prayer”. Just wondering!
@Me_a_documentary3 жыл бұрын
theres no such thing as formal prayer really, being in the prescence of God, seeing God in everything, having a relationship, just talking to your friend, thats prayer dear, and its very beautiful that you can find God in basic everyday questions and informal conversations. sometimes i ask God his opinion about what to wear when in going to class
@gracejones37843 жыл бұрын
It absolutely counts! Formal prayer is important, but so is emptying your heart out to the Lord. Both are pleasing to God.

I feel terrible. I used to pray the Rosary every night with my wife, but then we stopped for some reason. I want to go back to our prayers but I am so ashamed of how far I have gone away. I need to go to Confession, but I am scared/ashamed. What can I do?

Pray to the Blessed Mother to give you the courage and the words. She will , guaranteed! And our Lord will be waiting for you with open arms and a beautiful smile on his face.

Say the serenity prayer! Courage to change the things I can! Get a Catholic confession list online and list your sins,go through the ten commandments. Find out where confession is close to you and times. Take your list of sins into confessional, it's too hard to remember off the top of your head! Plus you don't want to forget any! Say the serenity prayer before confession,ask Jesus for the courage to make a good confession. Courage is feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Remember ( the adversary) will do absolutely everything to stop or distract you, so you don't go! About me! I was staying at my parents house , praying rosary at least once a day, fasting Wednesday and Friday,no meat.really on track with God earlier this year. I moved out to a rental place in about march.i have prayed the rosary once in this time and doing half fasts.its difficult to get back on track and I really feel restrained. I have been doing regular confession and going to mass, but really struggling with prayer.
