This is by far the best piece of advice I've ever gotten from a video, and watched hundreds of them over the years. Like, hands down. You've thrown the ball out of the park here. Simple, straightforward and clear. Grande, Sam Ovens!

I was thinking the same thing. Sam has the best channel on KZbin. I could only watch his videos over and over again and still learn new things.

Sam Ovens is a genius. I learn so much from him that I ended up becoming a consultant by accident. Just these videos put me ahead enough to make money without looking for it.

This concept might have merit, but it's gonna take some serious analysis to make a determination of the corrolary between all actions. Skipping songs on the radio could be "refusing to finish", or it could be "follow the mood", or it could be "seeking novelty", or it could be "fear of missing out", or it could be ... You need more than one action to explain a life, but more data points in a life can explain an action.

Brilliant Sam! So clear advice on distraction and focus! And I'm an ADD person so, you're advice, it's kind of embarassing but honestly it's true. I've just removed all social apps from my phone while watching! And I'm an opener, so I need to finish more things definitely! WoW! I’ve finished this episode and I use that creative approach very often! But the Ernest Hemmingway story where you switch modes to be committed to write is great. Definitely agree with that.

The overall logic makes sense but song example is not great at all.. You may not like a song and skip it or another one and that would not tell whether a person is a completer-finisher - it would be a waste of time to keep playing a song you do not enjoy...
@liamc11024 жыл бұрын
Should never skip a song half way through.

Good interviewer but could push harder against Sam speaking, at times, in black or white absolute language, i.e, Never, always, not possible, etc. Different things work for different people. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure many wealthy and successful people have fucked up personal lives. Many people focus on being great and go all in on one thing, so other things in life don't get much attention, because there isn't much attention left to give.
