I watched this and went to MOM website to check on my address and I found a person unknown to me listed as being registered at my address!!! This is just disturbing. I have reported this to MOM. But I am just rattled now. Thanks for this episode! I wouldn't have found out otherwise.

Hope CNA can come out with one episode to teach all owners how to check if their address or data have been used without their knowledge so that all such cases will be reported. If such cases is uncovered easily, no one will use other's address anymore.

In Malaysia, our electricity provider (TNB) sells our personal information to annoying property agents. As soon as you register your name to a property, have fun getting agents contacting you daily.

That being said, you don't even have to give your address, crooks can just randomly pick one. Rental Lease Contract can be easily faked as well. ACRA can always implementing sending a snail mail code that needs to be entered online to confirm registration.

In Philippines, it is against the law to use someone's home addresses without consent. Most villages with security personnel at the gates and even companies with C/NDA (Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreement) have regular compliance validation to deter such ID theft and to inform affected individuals and law enforcement agencies against anyone who misuse such addresses.

It's against the law according to the PDPA too, but what the guys over at Privacy Ninja are suggesting are bad actors who are several layers down below data owners (the eCommerce platform you're buying from) who might just deal with logistics in eCommerce for example, might sell your data to other bad actors online. In this case, the data owner (the eCommerce platform) would be liable if a case was brought to court.

Given that Singapore is so integrated data-wise, why isn't the gov agencies not requiring the home owners to do a two factor authentication for using the said addresses for whatever purposes??

Just sharing... For a 3/4/5 room hdb unit can only house 6 people. Unless they are all the from same parents else cannot live more than 6 people. 1 of my neighbour actually sold his flat recently and the new buyer is a restaurant businessman who house 8 people in the house. Because the people in that unit keep making lots of noise at 3am because that is the time they returned from work. One of them love to stand at corridor of neighbours to chat on the phone with his lover at 3 to 5am. It woke others up from our dreamland. So they are the talk of the town 😂 soon some auntie go kaypoh how many people living in the unit and find out got 8 people. They asked the neighbour with camera if she can turn her camera to help or not. Then they report it via certain online app.

Since primary school, my mum already tell us not to disclose our address to others. I remember clearly a situation in a bus, 2 primary schools boy just get to know each other then one boy got to get off the bus, so he yell his full address and name to his new friend. More than 10 years ago i already know how to search for people address online. 😂

I am part of a group chat with 200 shopee buyers. There are a few people who get junk parcels daily. 1 of them staying with his mother in law and her mil was so mad at her that they often fight. So someone in the group chat suggest she give each shopping platform a different name. She did and realised it is lazada name was same as the junk mail. I think she tried get it fixed with lazada customer service but no solution was given. 😅

the dumbest way to give away your address (without a human actually asking you) is simply to fill up the scam (almost...) NTUC/Sheng Siong receipts that ask you for name, addresses and etc.. really dumb to give away the details without benefiting a single cent 😂😂

9:36 idk but wouldn't it be inappropriate to expose/ show the owner's daughter face to the public, I mean even if they were to agree, it still felt inappropriate. It wouldn't make any impact to the video as well, do hope some privacy/ mosaic could be made to protect individuals especially younger children or victims.

How to get someone address? 1. Give free NTUC voucher and ask them to fill up a survey form. 2. Give free gift then ask them to leave the contact information.

ITs a lot easier for ACRA and MOM to just continue to collect fees. investigation and due diligence takes time and resources and eats into their "profitability" 😂😂 why should an innocent home owner spend his time and resources to check on a portal???? MOM collects the levy - they do the work lah!!

Supermarket lucky draws, food delivery platforms, online shops/platforms, etc. Many places can leak your personal data, not just your home address. Extreme hard to prevent unless we live in caves and don't interact with people.

If you don't use real name to shop but use a nicknames like miss piggy then the leaked info is miss piggy. Few people in my group chat received junk parcel daily. So someone suggest we give different name to each platform to try see which platform leak it. That actually gave me the idea to change my name on all shopping platform. 😂 I use nickname now 😅

Mr. Chia, u are doing a report tonight April 27 on your take on the, as u say the addiction or gateway marijuana issue. I don't think you, or any person that's never smoked marijuana has a clue. I am a 67 year old who would love to debate u on the reality of this issue. I am so sick and tired of people who know nothing about the true medicine of marijuana. It saved my life, it helped my mom when she was in her 80's for sleep and serious pain. She was a non believer to until her pain was to much so she decided to give it try and the end result was her saying she should have educated herself to it much earlier. So all u non believers no absolutely nothing about it. You saying and people saying it's a gateway drug.
