What I’ve noticed is that on Twitter in particular, the posts that get the most attention are almost always the hot takes, false statistics, made up quotes and copypastas. Hi! In many respects, I think football has always been about entertainment, due to the increasing attention it gained throughout the decades, but I understand what you're saying. I'm a sort of a radical about social networks: I made the choice to stay out of the main channels, at least, knowing I wouldn't be able to handle them so easily. Ironically, I ended up having quite the same problem with KZbin, but luckily it has consisted in wasting time on music-based content... 😅 Personally, I disagree with Alfie on the impossibility to see positivity and knowledge prevail on outrage and ignorance: every single word leaves its trace, that's true, but Internet (just like time) is such an enormous sea, and only the best-equipped "ships" can navigate through it. The same goes, in this case, for football content: while it's strange (to say the least) to see the success of platforms that seek for clickbait, I think those who are more keen on elegance and care (this channel itself, or even something like Tifo Football or COPA90, to stay in the UK) still have got the winning formula. Why? Well, because they love what it's interesting and set to last, not what it's trending and set to disappear. Sorry if I went too far from the main point of the discussion or if I was somewhat unintelligible, but I hope it's useful! 😅😉

People on social media always get proved wrong with time anyway for example people called Klopp a manager that bottles finals then goes on to win the biggest final in club football a year later. People call Pep a fraud because he didn’t have a good first season then he goes onto possibly creating the best prem team of all time

I absolutely love football - fell in love with the game almost 15 years ago and I adore it a lot. I also was very active on Twitter back in the glory days of early 2010's when there was banter, but nothing as toxic as it is these days. I deleted my Twitter account altogether in 2019 I think and my life has genuinely been peaceful ever since. Yes, I do miss being in-the-know of everything that happens in the world of football, but I eventually found other means of getting my daily fix (podcasts have been terrific!). I am not intending to do any virtue-signaling here; just wanted to share my personal experience.

I'm a West Ham fan, and I used to be proud to be a West Ham fan......that is until I saw what our fans are actually like on social media! Now I'm just embarrassed to count myself as one of them! We're 5th in the table currently and doing better than we have done for years, but every day, guaranteed, West Ham fans will find *something* to moan about (the manager, the players, the formation, choice of subs etc). They have their own Facebook groups set up where they spend all day ranting and complaining amongst themselves in their own little echo chambers. If they're not doing that, then they seem to spend all day on Twitter ready to jump on anything that either of the chairmen post just so they can slag them off. There's an account called ExWHEmployee, and it's basically just a guy who posts insider knowledge, but all day, every day, he'll get hundreds of fans DEMANDING information from him like they're entitled to know it before anyone else or something. And God help you if you're any WH player *other* than Mark Noble! They 'mostly' love him (because he's the captain and he's been with us his whole career), but you'll still see loads of 'fans' moaning about him being "past it", or "not good enough anymore" or "he should just retire already". It feels like they've allowed their love for their football club to become an absolute obsession that dominates every waking minute of their lives, and it's just kind of........sad. The thing is though, they take all of that pent up aggression into the stands on matchday too! It's no coincidence that we're currently doing so well when no fans are allowed in the stadium!

Using "Farmers League" and "small club" as an insult just shows what type of fans these people are. Like I'd rather support my local club even if they are struggling than being a gloryhunter who supports some Oil Money project or Wallstreet Business Venture only because they're successful. I obviously have nothing against their real fans who supported them before that or are from that area but I don't think anyone of them are writing these comments. It's even more ridiculous when they write "small club" under a Barcelona or Bayern post just to be trolling.

I remember during the time that Emery was rumoured to be replaced by Marco Siva and I defended him Emery. Quite a lot of fans then started to say things against Arsenal and thought that I would be offended for some reason. You don't need to support a team to like a player/manager. I don't like Arsenal but I stil think that they did well in signing Emery. Better than Chelsea's choice on Sarri. Then again, afterwards they did dirty on Emery considering the fact his defense was worse than two pieces of wood. If instead they had supported him, it would be considerably better in the long run.

The football channels I watch the most are HITC Sevens (I might be in every comment section since the day I found it), DW Kick-Off and more generally sport-related but still with a few videos on football Athletic Interest and I also like to tune into Rebona TV. HITC Sevens and Rebona TV are just ideal KZbin football channels in my view (one worker does everything), DW Kick-Off has a huge team behind it and it shows, while Athletic Interest clearly isn't as big, but there must be at least a few folks behind it (I really hope it's more than 3).
