I started taking 50 MG in late (dec 2019) after having a burnout from work and the pressures of life. I still felt somewhat sad, and had some bad thoughts (against myself) so she upped my dose to 100Mg, and after that I went through the Pandemic, a divorce, and a few other challenges and none of these thoughts came back! I’m a christian, and strongly believe in medicine, since in my opinion, God blessed humans with knowledge to develop medicine, in other to help and cure certain conditions. I hope one day I don’t need to take it, but will do as long as its needed

Thank you for this post Lucas. I am a newly devoted christian and I have been struggling with depression and anxiety heavily as of recent. It's affecting my day to day life and i was recommended this by my doctor. I was hesitant on taking it because I feel guilty on taking this as a christian but your comment made realize that medicine is a gift from god and decided to go through with it. Thank you and god bless!

Update: I bumped to 50mg one month then to 75mg the next month you have to be able to find your perfect medium, I noticed that I would get kinda irritable when it was not working for me. Now that I’m on 75mg I feel like this is my perfect medium and keeping it this way I’m not bumping up anymore. Not everyone is the same so you have to pay attention to how you feel, to know what you feel is best for you. And don’t be scared to ask for a higher or lower dose. It’s really ok. I’m a mom of two young boys and a wife. Irritability is a big no no in my life. We got to be positive and strive to get better for ourselves.

Don't be to hard on yourself though, You are still human and are allowed to not be positive at times. I have 5 kids. 2 being teens. It's not always positive lol. We are all human still, meds or not we need to vent at times.

I'm 31 years old and on Day 4 of 25mg loading. I felt it within the first hour of taking it (I also spared no time after getting the prescription and took it at 12 noon). I feel like I can actively think for myself now versus being perpetually bombarded with multiple thoughts at once. I find that I'm also responding emotionally quicker to my thoughts, which makes me feel more present in my own body. The anxiety that lived primarily in my solar plexus caused tightness and shallow breathing, but on Zoloft, I can recognize when I would typically be having a lot of anxiety there and now it feels loose; it is a different sensation. I 100% prefer the burpiness I have now over the rigidness I had in my gut before lol. As I told my doctor, I never ever thought I'd be interested in anti-anxiety medication, but sometimes we don't choose what we experience in life, and it has been such a huge help in a little matter of time.

Though my bad thoughts are still there and my memory has begun to deteriorate at an unexpectedly high level, learning new things in school is becoming nigh impossible, and that was partly the reason I began to use Zoloft in the first place. Me too, was taking 50 , hit the skid pan, up dose to 100. Now 8 days since increase. Less sweating & panic attacks but still no appetite, feel fearful all the time & struggling to stay out of bed ! Let's hope we all improve, good luck

Please research Robert Whitaker before taking any antidepressant medication. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in his work on the subject. Antidepressants can work up to three or four years and then you’re worse off than you were and dependent on medication and now with side effects. His evidence based medicine research is world renowned and published. He has two books. ‘Anatomy of an epidemic’, and ‘mad in America’. Please read and be informed before doing this to your brain and body.

Hey Blake. Let’s say someone took it for 6 months while doing intense therapy and getting things back on track and then leaned off it once things got better? I’m curious because I’m nervous to take it but I’m going through a really hard time right now.
@blakejohnson86394 ай бұрын
@@BenLeshin short term is definitely a better option and I’m not telling anyone what to do. Just do your research. Coming off in six months would be easier than long term use. Many people end up just stay on it because you may have withdrawal effects.

Is 50mg of Zoloft better to be taken in the morning? Also, how long does it take to fully adjust to this med. Been on it for 2 weeks.

Im going to start it soon. Im 16, and first starting with 50 mg of quatiapune (i think thats how you spell it) and its supposed to help me ease into the med with less bad side effects. Im very nervous, but im too afraid to search up what zoloft will do when i first start it, as i want to focus on the good. Im mainly curious... will i become a zombie almost? Or more hyper? Struggling to not go back on this because it does help but you will lose your sex drive, your empathy, your ability to care, you won’t relate to sad songs you won’t feel you’ll stay in a numb state of an ok feeling weigh up if your ok with that seek some alternatives first this should be last resort action

What causes the deficiency in neurotransmitters? I think of depression as being very sad. Can any internal factors cause depression even if I’m not going through any sad “situation”
@CarmineGotSnip3d5 жыл бұрын
Depression is not being sad. Depression is a hollowness within yourself.
@PixelLife1014 жыл бұрын
Yes, depression can be caused by bad brain chemistry. IE if you take MDMA too often or too much you can overstimulate your receptors or use up your serotonin reserve (though this builds back in a week typically). Supposedly bad diets can affect your mood too, which wouldn't be surprising since the serotonin has to be produced out of the nutrients we eat. Though its dubious to say how effective a diet could be or even a supplement could be.

Genetics can cause depression (it's more common among members of the same family), also being sick, having an injury can lead to depression. There is a lot of factors

Modern Utopia your example of taking mdma is so true. I have taken mdma and when you come down whewwwwww you feel like your ready to end your whole life. I do believe a lot of “uppers” are like this because you get so “high” that when you come down you really come down

What is my guarantee that those who write positive reviews about the drug (Zoloft) are not actually sales representatives of the pharmaceutical company that produces this drug? On the other hand, what is my guarantee that those who write negative opinions about this drug are not sales representatives of pharmaceutical companies for which this drug (Zoloft) is a competitive product taking the market away from them? Conclusion: what is my guarantee that the opinions about this drug presented here are reliable?
