Both is approved just as well for PTSD but medicinal Cannabis with CBD and a tiny bit of THC for setraline its 50--200 mg for PTSD fx and Cannabis well talk with doctor but Cannabis works as a SSRI when its CBD dominant and just tiny bit of THC just Google THC and Serotonin and CBD and Serotonin... but medicinal Cannabis is easier to quit i plan to exchange my meds while i quit if i get Cannabis to avoid widrawls after a while fx

Before trying any antidepressant / SSRI you should research each one and look at the reviews for each one and seek one that has the best reviews considering your problems. I sealed Prozac after doing research and looking at reviews because it works by producing more GABA in the brain, i know this is good for anxiety because Lorazepam acts this way and gives me relief. I also see it had fantastic reviews for people with OCD and anxiety. It’s day 3, I have immediately noticed some benefit (not placebo because still been having panic attacks) I’m hopeful that in a couple of weeks time im going to feel even better. FYI, I’m on 20mg Prozac with the option to increase dosage if I need. However, I’m hoping 20mg is enough to give me my life back without daily paranoia, ocd and panic attacks.

Zoloft helped the anxiety but made me feel more depressed so I switched to lexapro loved it but made me gain 15 pounds in 1 month don't even know how that's possible since I'm relatively healthy luckily with hard work I was able to get it off ... so I've been looking into Prozac but if one SSRI makes me gain a lot of weight don't you think another most likely will. It really stinks because it seems a lot cause weight gain and call me vain but I'd prefer to not gain weight I know some say it's just diet but no way nothing changed and I dumped on a large amount of weight in such a small amount of time.

@eliallen38605 ай бұрын
I honestly think Zyprexa is similar in effectiveness for elevated mood swings whether it’s augmented to an SSRI like not just Prozac, but also Zoloft or Lexapro. Yet, Zyprexa is often avoided nowadays unless it’s at much higher doses for schizophrenia or psychosis because it’s worse out of all the antipsychotics for weight gain. Due to its metabolic side effect profile, I think Zyprexa should only be used for non-psychotic mixed mood swings after other antipsychotics like Seroquel and Abilify have failed (and of course Lithium and Depakote in treatment resistant cases). Seroquel tends to provide the most effective mood stabilization in the vast majority, while Abilify has the least side effects (and some do very well on Abilify as well).

I can’t tell if my anxiety has caused my tinnitus or the start of taking Prozac again. I’m miserable and don’t know what to do. I need to get this fear under control because it’s stopping me from functioning normally. Help.
@LevelheadedMind2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a bad experience. Tinnitus can be a rare side effect of Prozac, the only way to know for sure is to stop taking it and see if the Tinnitus goes away, however, you need to discuss with your doctor first before just stopping it. There may be some other factors at play here and a medical work up should also be considered to rule out medical causes. I hope you get better soon 🙏

Hi, At last I've found someone I feel comfortable with. Ive been asked by my DR to start on 50mg Sertraline next Monday for Social Anxiety, panic attacks especially when driving, it all started during Covid 3 years ago, I'm 74 now (Male) and suffered from nerves most of my life, why I dont know. Ive now became a recluse well almost and mixing with others is very difficult even impossible. Valium used to help a lot but these days UK Dr's do not like to prescribe. What should I expect the first 2-8 weeks please? Thanks x John UK
@LevelheadedMind Жыл бұрын
For most people the first few weeks is adjusting to the medication. You may experience some nausea or stomach upset, if so this can be alleviated by taking it with food. Therapeutic benefits will be noticed at weeks 4 to 8. If not, your doctor may need to increase the dose.

Lexapro makes me more tired during adrenal fatigue. Would Sertraline be a good alternative?
@LevelheadedMind2 жыл бұрын
If you're dealing with adrenal fatigue you need to support your adrenals with b complex vitamins and adaptagens in order for anything to work for you. Adrenal fatigue is a root cause that needs to addressed first.
@santeenl2 жыл бұрын
@@LevelheadedMind tbh it’s not an adrenal problem. Your brain and hormones are out of whack, the adrenals just put out what the brain says. I am already taking a load of supplements: multi/b complex, fishoil, magnesium, potassium, salt, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, l-tyrosine, B12, D3, C. It’s going better slowly. I noticed my fatigue from Lexapro is fading with a tiny bit of Matcha and some morning movement.
@LevelheadedMind2 жыл бұрын
@@santeenl you can also try taking the Lexapro at night. Somnolence can be a side effect of Lexapro irregardless of adrenal fatigue.

an i combine the 2 Drugs? Sertraline, even 50mg, has too much sides, but works.. Fluoxetine doesnt help enough with procrastination, anxiety and depression. if i low dose Sertraltine (25mg) with a 20mg fluoxetine, it works. i also use 50mg Trazadone to sleep.. Is this too much? it works.. but i tried it by myself.

Doesn't sertraline's DAT activity only occur at higher than usual doses? Being a 5HT2C agonist, wouldn't it strangle the release of dopamine and norepinephrine at therapeutic doses?

I think I may have gotten a bad batch of pills this last time. It’s the same manufacturer as my previous ones, but I had the worst side effects for a couple of weeks! It’s almost like I just started on fluoxetine for the first time but I’ve been taking it for 15 years! Have you EVER heard of anyone getting a bad bottle of pills before?? What could have caused those horrible side effects??

Have you contacted the manufacturer? Seems like something is wrong with the batch.
@LevelheadedMind2 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzi. I am sorry you are experiencing this. Unfortunately, this can happen. Notify your pharmacist so they can recall this Lot# and ask for a different brand or Lot#. Sometimes the additive compounds, such as dyes and other filler ingredients can cause these types of problems.

I wouldnt bother with these medications, they work as well as Placebos. I dont recommend taking Venlafaxine either as it is extremely hard to come off of even though it is more effective. Therapy is the way my friends. Treat your body like it is a temple and listen to your needs while they are still at a whisper.

SSRI induced sexual Dysfunction is permanent . I am suffering from this problem from last 3 years when I quit escitolopram after short term use and I have also consulted Psychiatrist for SSRI induced sexual Dysfunction and he gave me bupropion , vortioxetine, ginkoo biloba, yohimibine but all of them failed to reverse my problem. I think psychiatrist don't inform their patient regarding possibility of permanent sexual Dysfunction.

Wow, and I just asked a question similar. I’m So sorry that’s happening to you. I’ve always been told it’s “temporary”. Wow I hope somehow you get better. 🙏🏼
@LevelheadedMind2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's unfortunate that this has become a permanent issue for you. However, you can't overgeneralize this and say everyone will have this. First of all to suggest that one medication caused permanent sexual dysfunction is to claim that the medication made permanent changes to your neurotransmitters, which is not backed up by evidence. Of all the hundreds of patients I've treated none of them ended up with permanent sexual dysfunction. Once the medication was stopped the sexual function resumed backed to its normal function. Perhaps there are other factors at play here to consider, hormones, brain tumors, diet, inflammation, etc. In any case I hope you find the help you need. 🙏
