I just fixed one for a guy. Replaced the needle from my 175 Subaru to his 190.the carb seats are different his was just polished aluminum mine was brass. So his needle works in my carb now. Thank God...cuz getting all that 190 carb linkage stuff would have been a nightmare for me

Late to the game here but had the same problem. Thoroughly cleaned the needle valve and passage but the needle continued to stick closed. Rubber tip appeared undamaged. Eventually replaced the carb (Amazon) and it runs fine. IMO there is a design defect. No attachment of the needle to the float like the majority of small engine carbs which is a more competent way to control the needle. Turn off the fuel valve and run ‘er dry every time after use. Add a better in-line filter. These are good engines except for the carb.

I have the same exact machine and love it but...I can not find a new carburetor- mine has the high choke control tower like yours. Let me know if you source one. Thank you, Sir

Haven't found an exact replacement, sorry man. Hopefully your's isn't too badly gummed up yet & u can fix it like I did this 1. Here's what the guy said a few comments down below: " I am guessing that the 190V stands for VERTICAL or it could stand for VERY hard to get, because it is impossible to locate a carb replacement with the vertical linkage. You can order the so-called replacement from Amazon or eventually Walmart and none of them work. Carbs are so cheap nowadays that it is usually more cost effective to replace the whole carb. I'll try your method and see if it works. If anyone has actually found the exact carb replacement, please post it here." Hope u get it running good as new asap, wish u the best. Take care, - Leeroy

Okay man, good to know, thanks for sharing that. Yes if anyone knows the exact carb replacement, Please share it here. This 1 I worked on wasn't too badly gummed up yet, but it was sure on it's way. I got the owner enlightened & informed about the Evil, shelf life killing tendencies of just 10% ethanol gas. And now sloppy Joe Biden thinks it'd be a good idea to go to 15% ethanol?!?!.... Ha!... Nutz!... Think I put a fuel shut off valve on this pressure washer And on his old Craftsman riding mower. Hope u get it fixed up asap. Good luck, wish u the best. Take care from Tn. - Leeroy
