All the way from Canader!! Thanks for the video - you solved my breaker-tripping range issue and it only cost me $3.75 CDN! One of the two bulbs in the oven was BADLY deteriorated causing a short and the breaker to trip. Could'nt believe it - thought at the very least 100 bucks for an element! A very informative video. Here in New Zealand, we don't put ovens or hobs on RCD's. They are usually on an MCB. The lights and power points are all on RCD's. The rules are 3 circuits per RCD. Alternatively we just use RCBO's.

Great video. Just moved into a house with an AEG cooker that has never been used, still had the labels hanging from it. It turns on but as soon as you turn the temperature dial the RCD trips. Tried using only the top element or bottom element but it always trips. Could you give me an idea what might be causing this?

He bro, I have air fryer/oven and when it gets hot the vents of the fan inside expand and it lifts up causing it to stop the fan...so is it safe to connect the vents to the heating element with a copper wire in order to stop it from hitting the fan?

Hi , hope you can help .. we have a zanucci double oven cooker it started tripping our main fuse box .. we replaced the main oven control knob , thermostat , plus the fan motor in main oven all the other parts work with out tripping just main fan oven .

You really need to test each individual component with an insulation tester or mega, but this is an expensive tool and I do not expect you to only one, but you may have an electrical friend who would be able to assist. The only other way is to individually test components with the Earth attached to them correctly

I have a Bosch oven. Simply opening the door is sufficient to trip the switch on the breaker. The oven doesn't even need to be on, nor been on prior to opening the door. My guess is that the door sensors need replacing but it's just a guess. However, it is intermittent and doesn't occur everytime the door is opened.

Is the RCD the switch on the wall? The one where my oven is connected has two switches, one of them red. Also, my oven is 30 years old and has not worked for as long as I've lived here. If I turn it on, it immediately trips the breaker. My landlord wants to put a new fuse in it, but he is not an electrician. Should I just forget about getting this thing fixed?

If it is tripping the electric supply, then you may have electricity tracking to the chassis. This could be from a spillage or you may have a wire trapped. My Neff single built-in oven has just started to trip our RCD on starting. Both the top and fan elements look okay visually and I can spin the fan blade with my hand without any problem. What should I check for first without totally removing the oven (if possible)? Thank you.

The easiest way to test this without a multimeter or a insulation tester. First disconnect the power from the electricity then isolate one element at a time. Then turn the power back on making sure that the wires were safe not touching any metal and try each individual element. This should only be really done with someone who is competent with electrics. This way you will be able to find which element is specifically causing the rcd leakage problem.
