My old Zanussi vent type dryer alternates between 2000W and 160W during operation. Is this normal? The drying time is long and it strikes me that the 2000W is a bit low for the max power draw?? Thanks for the video.

It's not actually worth me doing, you only need to remove the vent tube at the back to gain access to the motor, and then there's a 13 mil nut that you have to undo the manufacturer actually put some thought into this one

Hi Paul do you have any videos on Stats and TOCs? Could you shed some light on the differences between the them as in the colors of the spots. Surely there must be inter brand compatibility. Is there a way of finding a compatible replacement just by looking at the case? Thanks

Thanks again for the professional demonstration I currently still work in the industry for large retail company and i think the heat pump dryers are my biggest bug bare these so called manufacturers make it very difficult for engineers to maintain them no real access panels etc.Many years ago they tried to combine coffee maker and refrigeration together in a whirlpool appliance unsuccessfully maybe in time the heat pumps may go the same way…can you tell where I can purchase the smart meter thanks👍

I have not had many good experiences with heat pump dryers,, even fixing them for my own use. I always difficult to diagnose as heating is a slow failure not heat or no heat. Is it a Sensor or airflow? total disassembly if you want to find the leak normally 'it is corrosion in the water condenser. Good for a source of almost new parts is the only positive.

That was something I forgot to say in the video, the condenser pipes around the collection tray are always rusting. Why don't they make them out of stainless steel? @@How-to-repair The fluff build-up probably comes from friction beating the clothes for an extra hour which is another hidden factor in the cost of running if you have nice clothes. Like American top loaders, they last a while but your clothes don't.

One thing to add re heat pump dryers they don't work very well at all in room temperature below 16/18 degrees and no use in a garage or unheated utility room etc
