A gentleman and lovely lady doing something very noble especially giving good credence to the cold formed hulls. Well done

My dad had a 42 Owens, lived on it in High School in Michigan, still have a couple pics, had hydraulic shift and operating dual helm, fun live aboard.

Howard I am elated at the fact that I’m looking at someone who has an interest in whirlwind boats. I’ve owned one since 1963, And it’s been used every year until eight years ago. It’s since been parked in my garage, because it has never been exposed to sunlight during storage. My entire family of five people all learned how to water ski in the Raritan Bay area. I’ve gone offshore with that boat, I’ve got to see the Statue of Liberty, sailed up the Hudson a little bit, to the G W bridge as well as trailering to the Jersey shore. I did some personal improvement on the boat such as all stainless steel rub railing also stainless steel keel guard that runs the length of the keel, because when I used to trailer the boat I had a tendency to scrape the launch ramp at times. I have a tilt trailer, and it was not necessary for me to submerge the trailer to float the boat off. The boat has been in our family since brand new, and it was built excellently. It is light, it is round bottom which allows me to go into a full turm full power without flipping. My only regret is that I could not locate a 16 foot cabin cruiser or open cruiser. My boat is the 16 foot deluxe runabout. When I bought it I had a choice of buying either the 14 foot Or the 16 foot model. I settled for the 16 footer. It was the best investment that I ever made in buying a boat. Right now I own a 19 foot Chris-Craft Holiday utility model. I haven’t been using my whirlwind, but it is still in pristine condition. I’m sure that when I go to my final retirement, that my family will appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that has gone into the building of these boats. They are truly a work of art. I salute them for a job well done.

I just got a Pipestone boat from Pipestone MN that has been in storage pretty much since it was new. It is pretty darn nice. I might restore it unless I sell it to a collector..has a 40 or 45 HP Johnson that says whisper quiet on the lower unit. Has the Johnson still above the key

Hello Howard, went to your website, saw a boat for sale, went to "contact" to ask a question, message won't go through, says "for premium members"? I had input my name and email. Question: The 1954 Thompson car topper what is its length? Is it made of cedar over oak ribs covered by canvas? A profile view of the outside hull would be appreciated. Is it still available? Look forward to hearing from you. Scott J

I hope you didn’t mean that you would cut through the bow and transom of these beautiful boats when you get your Museum established. Or that you would have them literally sunk into the ground. I wouldn’t be able to tolerate the thought of any of these boats being essentially destroyed in the way that I thought I heard you say.

I know Howard, and he would never even remotely "destroy" any boat he touched. No worries, matey.
