wow i've never thought of the knee bar that you can actually sit on the knee. That 's awesome.

watch Dean Lister his kneebar video if you want some more useful knowledge on the "mechanics" or how to secure a kneebar and preventing an escape

That last one with both legs is how Erica Paes beat Cyborg in her first fight. I wonder what happened to Erica Paes.

It's a wonder you don't see more kneebars. You'd think it'd be quick and easy to pull off since so often your opponent's on his back. I mean, the half-guard position is basically half-way there.

+OuroborosChoked have you ever grappled with a high level guy? If you lose the kneebar, you run a big risk of getting your back taken or at least getting flipped. When in the half guard, the legs are locked in a guard or triangle way. If you go for a kneebar and your opponent sees it, it's easy to defend from that position and after you lost it it's all work uphill. IMO the best place to go for a kneebar is in the closed guard (under), an open guard with your opponent standing up (also under), or as I try to pass my opponents guard (over).

are there different ways to kneebar like bent the knee laterally rather than backwards? just wondering because i tried it on a friend and put almost no pressure into it and tore their knee

I don't quite understand the mechanics of where the pressure is being applied, Is he trying to hyper-extend his knee? Is he trying to tear his hamstring?/Break a bone? or Dislocated the knee? An answer would be helpful.
@gburrage18 жыл бұрын
+Gr33kshuffler I think it's more of a hyper-extension of the knee
@AK-mh4zb8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, greg is right. It's like a leg version of an armbar. The pressure is applied on the back of his knee making it a really painful submission.

If they’re willingly fighting even after you’ve successfully locked a submission at that point you dictate weather you viciously break the bone/joint or put the person to sleep with the choke.
