Worked wonders for me, thanks! My fanwires were glued into the sockets, don't pull them out if that's the case for you as well. I had someone hold them up for me while cleaning/repasting. Went from +-90C to steady 49C-51C during gaming. Cathair is a big oof for the fans, found out how important it is to clean them.. I pulled out enough hair to make myself a 3rd cat. Laptop is also 100x more silent.

Thank you very much for these clear instructions 👍 I was able to successfully renew the cooling of my *MSI GP62MVR 6RF Leopard Pro* And something I noticed: When removing the cooling system screws 1:28 my model had small numbers printed into the metal next to each screw hole, so I could follow them from 1 to 12 and later in reverse order.

Super well made guide. I’ve had this laptop for a few years and finally bit the bullet to get a real pc a couple months ago. Since I’ve got another system I figured why not finally open this thing up and try reducing the 90+ temps I’ve been having the last year with it. Figured if anything goes wrong oh well I’ve got a pc and this ain’t worth much anymore. Everything went perfectly using your guide and my temps top out around 75 now which is crazy compared to what I was used to. It’ll hopefully make for a great side computer for a while if I ever need it. My specs: i7 7700H, 1080, 16gb RAM, 500GB SSD

Worked fine for me! The fanwires were glued, but after opening the fans and figuring some stuff out i got acces to everything i needed. Did a before and after test on f1 2020 on high settings. before: +-95 constant after : 60-75 average fps was about the same, bit higher (90),but the minimum went from 50 to 80. The amount of dust was insane and removing it made it much quieter

I have the same problem. That mean that it is your cpu that is overheating. My cpy is doing thermal throttling because when it reach high temperature, the performance of my system is reduced. Try to change your thermal paste.
