Oreos uses high fructose corn syrup in the USA which is band in many other countries. In those countries they use real sugar. High fructose corn syrup is cheaper than real sugar cane sugar. However it is well known to cause Alcoholic liver disease in children. 😢

That’s all well and good, other than the fact that the filling no longer comes anywhere near the outer edge of the cookie anymore, and hasn’t for some years now. Fully 1/3rd of the cookie has no creme whatsoever. That picture on the package where the creme rides right along the very edge of the cookie? Yeah that’s a lie. In short, Oreo's "creme" is hydrogenated vegetable oil, high fructose corn syrup, soy lecithin, and vanillin. Each of those come with some concerns. Hydrogenated vegetable oil has been associated with several adverse side effects according to Healthline.
