Superb update provided. Can't wait for Howrah Station Metro to open. Probably the biggest Metro station of India. The gigantic station structure is awe-inspiring. The very thought of riding a metro underneath the Hoogly River thrills me. Phoolbagan Metro Station will get any other Indian city with a Metro sit up and take Kolkata Metro seriously. Yes this is coming from a subscriber who two months back said Kolkata Metro should concentrate on running North-South Metro flawlessly instead of having big dreams of competing with Delhi Metro. Kolkatans should not crib and cry about other cities like Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru having modern metros bcoz we are so satisfied with the tag of having India's first metro. We are happy with dinosaur metro technology. Suddenly there is a very bright light at the end of tunnel. A light that will startle everyone. Kudos to you MRB for this fantastic presentation. P. Do you know why? The Bengalis they will eat lunch and then sleep in afternoon, close their shops early in evening, won't open their shop on Thursdays and on Sundays and on each and every small occasions/festivals, and their favourite hobby is politics-politics always ready for strike for a occasional holiday. Too good. You did touch upon the points I asked in skyscrapercity. The safety aspect seems good. But what about water flooding. I have seen in Tokyo metro huge steel gates inside tunnels for prevention of flooding. I can send the photos if you so wish. Many thanks for the fantastic content and please stay safe. Amio sune chilam , Satragachi obdi extend korbe. But don't know the Ground reality. And even I've heard that Barrackpore to Barasat line will be Extended upto Kalyani (Nadia) and one line will extend upto Bongah. I've read this things in Newspapers in 2015 , after that I don't know the Status. But I believe Railway Authorities definitely have some plan. Let see

With Santragachi and Shalimar proposed to the terminal point of most SER trains in the next 3yrs, I dont find any reason why a Metro from Santragachi to Sec V will not be successful. It has to touch key points between Santragachi and Howrah Maidan.

I heard there's a plan to build a metro from Dankuni to Howrah, so are they building the platforms in howrah for that line now or are they planning to construct a new Howrah station when that line is constructed.
