Howrah Gaya chord line was electrified in between 1960 to 1966
@johnchrist-cn8ql6 ай бұрын
one small correction, Howrah was electrified in DC Current in late 1950s when WCM series locos were borrowed from CR, DC EMUs ran between Howrah & Barddhaman & Tarakeshwar, later in early 1960s AC Current was made uniform & EMUs started running on Howrah-Kharagpur, Howrah Barddhaman via Chord, WAM 2/3 locos from ER was used & WAM 1 from SER was used in 1960s. Also Shalimar was built as a yard in 1900s.

public transport is the backbone of any country. Trains are best way to move lots of people around. Govt must increase budget to 5 Lakh Crores per annum. Highways not required as much due to Induced Traffic.

Logistics could also be supplied by trains at much lower cost. That's why the DFCs are getting built. But I understand your point. I think India should restrict private car ownership to something like Singapore.... And increase public transport and make them world class which will be much more efficient and environment friendly

@@bibekdas7449 American people are stupid. Paris has banned cars in city centre areas. London has introduced ULEZ where cars cost high toll to ride in city centre. Amsterdam has globally known cycling culture, including for the rich. These places can do that because they have great public transport. America doesn't have that, so they are kinda forced to use cars. For us, European countries should be a role model, not American ones.

Fun Fact: There is no Platform 16 in Howrah Railway Station..😅😅😅 Platform 1 to 15 in Old Complex and 17 to 23 in New Complex 4:34 there was no direct rail connectivity between Kolkata and Dhaka up until 2005. Before that people have to take a Broad Gauge train from Sealdah to Goulanda Ghat via Ranaghat Jn, Pordaha Jn & Kushtia. Then it was a steamer ride on Padma/Ganga river all the way to Narayanganj and then from there a Metre gauge train to Dhaka from where you can take a Metre gauge train to either Mymensingh, Sylhet, Chittagong or Silchar

Informative. Good. Some suggestions: 1. Please use one language only, to the extent possible - for the voiceover; 2. The captions have errors in spellings and in grammar; 3. Use of more maps will help in understanding; 4. The narration is too fast - to imbibe the information being provided; 5. The pronunciation of Kol - kata is Kol as in coal and not as in call. So it will be coal-kaa-ta. Thank you.
