There’s not a better video on the platform that explains how to flare than this. Well done, very well done.

I have never seen that double flare. Very interesting. I could definitely see the benefit especially on 1/4.

Guten tight that's hilarious. And I've never seen a double flare before but it looked awesome. Nice work

You COULD probably use a vacuum before you pull the rag out. You Could also use a wire, rod, stick, etc that is bent 90° through the rag and out the bottom. This would help remove the rag and keep it from dropping. Of course it can't stick up above/into the flare area.

Another great video. What do you think of the newer cordless flare tools like the NAVAC?

Bravo 👏. I really would like to get one of those ridgid flare kits but I just don’t do enough flaring. May just get one just because, I love tools. All tools lol

Can you provide a link for a double flaring tool?

Does putting Nylog on the threads change the flare nut torque setting?
@HVACLife4 ай бұрын
Yes it does change the amount of torque applied in the clamping direction. You would probably have to ask the manufacturer to get an exact answer but I just use the standard settings. They may end up a bit tighter but to me that’s perfectly ok and I prefer it that way. However, whenever I use a torque wrench I also balance it with my own judgement and experience, this is especially true on the 1/4” lines, whether they are lubed or not.

Your flares look much better than any power assisted made one from the factory . Can't beat man made from a skilled experienced conscientious tradesman . Also , F them power tools that are dumbing down the craft and supposed to allow any dip sh*t to " make the perfect flare every time " , yeah right !

@@HVACLife Exactly , they're just dumbing down the industry mate , real shame it is . Enough of that rubbish and soon enough you won't be able to find someone who can hold a torch , work with copper or any of the core skills ... really sad !
